New favorite family game
Extremely cute game that teaches early boardgame mechanics in a collaborative (non-competitive, you play against the crow) way. My little one's new favorite game to play as a family.

Classic board game that never gets old!
I remember playing this game in Kindergarden 35 years ago and that I loved it and today my kids play it and love it as well. The game just doesn't get old. You have to work as a team and try to pick all the fruits from the trees before the raven Theo manages to steal them. The rules are easy to understand and remember and the kids love the feel of the wooden fruits and the little baskets. We love the quality of the game pieces and that they are not just cardboard or plastic that break easily like most other games for little kids come with. Haba games are in my opinion and from my experience generally better quality games. We had the version for younger children too and recommend both for everyone with little ones that love board games.

This is the greatest game!
This game is fabulous 1. My 2.5 year old plays it daily and absolutely loves it. 2. durable (baskets get squashed, but hold up to it okay but a little beaten looking) 3. game pieces adorable (small) and high quality. If you have very small children then you may want to laminate the cardboard puzzle pieces. I haven't but the puzzle component is doing fine despite that. 4. Co-operative games are important developmentally and not so easy to find. This is a great first game for kids. It teaches about taking turns, sharing, and working together towards a goal. We've had this game for several months and it still comes out everyday to be played with. My toddler loves rolling the die (singlular) and putting the fruit in the basket. The puzzle is fun for her, too. The fruit game pieces are small (hence the recommended age) but my 2.5 year old plays the game as it is intended.

Great game for young kids
I bought this game for my 3 year old primarily due to nostalgia-- I remember playing it myself as a child and enjoying it a lot. It was an instant hit with him, and we have spent several afternoons and evenings trying to beat that sneaky raven to the fruit! It's a great introductory board game for young kids. My son learned about rolling and interpreting dice, taking turns, and generally participating in board games (skills that we have since used while playing other board games). My only complaint about this game is that the little baskets for collecting fruit are disappointingly fragile. Excitable young children can easily crush the baskets beyond repair! We have substituted kitchenware for the time being and will probably head to the craft store for a more durable replacement. The other game pieces are sturdy, brightly colored and fun to use-- I just wish Haba had put as much effort into the baskets!

Such a fun game
This is the first “really” board game we have played. We do have a bunch for toddlers but this one feels like you are playing an actual game. No cheap but worth it.

Great game
In this game, the players play against the crow. Perfect idea, so we either all loose, or we all win. Makes it much easier for especially my son to be okay with loosing a game. The little baskets in which you collect the fruit are very fragile though, I wish they would change that. Therefore only 4 stars.

Best Family Game of All Time!
This game is always a huge hit with young families. My grandson loved playing it when he was little, and I have gifted it to several families since then. Part of its charm is that it enables the whole family to pull together as we race to beat the greedy raven.😀

Glad I bought it!
I'd read about Orchard and had been considering purchasing it for awhile, but wasn't sure about spending the money on it. Finally, we decided to get it for our sons (2.5 and nearly 4) for Christmas. My husband and I were both REALLY happy that we did. Negatives first: 1) It's true that the baskets are not very durable. One of ours is a bit smashed already (the one year old got ahold of it), but we'll find a replacement if necessary. 2) The puzzle for the crow is a bit difficult because the pieces don't stick together, but not a big deal. 3) and this is VERY nit-picky, I wish the cherries were a bit neater on their place; once I gave the stems a little twist and that fixed it. BUT, my kids don't care at all and they work just fine. The positives: 1) the fruit is beautiful! I love the little wooden pieces 2) my sons were easily able to get the rules of the game and don't need to be coached through the game at all. In some other games, we either have to go over the rules for each turn EVERY turn or forget about them, and that takes all the fun away. 3) it teaches fair play (gently stopping the 2 year old from rerolling if he gets a crow) 4) and turn taking. 5) good for reinforcing colors 6) and counting (2 fruit for the basket, and of course, we love to see how many of such and such fruit we have) 7) working together shall I go on? Best of all, the boys love it! And my husband and I both enjoy playing this game with the kids and our 11 month old (when we got the game) even likes in on the action and will sit in one of our laps and will "roll" the die on our turn. My mother, who is a kindergarten teacher recently purchased the game for her class center time after playing with our boys. All in all, a winner.
