VERY effective. Don't doubt and don't hesitate; TRY IT!!
We have a MAJOR mosquito and tick problem in the lakes region of Maine, to the point that our backyard was unusable unless drenched in repellant, and even with wearing deet or eucalyptus repellant, we would get bit, and I have found both common ticks and a deer tick crawling on my person. The deer tick demanded immediate action because of lyme disease concerns! Recalling how equally bad mosquitoes are in Florida, and despite that never getting bit by one in Disneyworld (which is surrounded by swamp), I started researching how they manage pests. The core component of their mosquito management turned out to be garlic-based spray around the perimeter of the parks, and ensuring that all water features are flowing rather than standing water. Since there is little I can do for standing water on our property, I used BTI to treat drainage ditches. For the perimeter, I tried Garlic barrier. As a test, I ordered the 32 oz size, and mixed it with water and peppermint castile soap and sprayed the perimeter of the cleared portion of our property the day after the garlic barrier arrived. Well, it has been almost a week, with a few rain showers since, and we have not gotten bit once, and we have not found one tick on our persons since I sprayed. I was not just pleasantly surprised, but actually shocked by its effectiveness, since I didn't even add any vegetable oil to help the repellant "stick". We do still see a few mosquitoes flying around, but even if they fly near us, they fly right by, not zeroing in on us. But, we don't see hundreds of mosqitoes and other flies within the sprayed perimeter. Beetles are relatively undeterred, so hopefully our firefly population is going to be unaffected. I'm going to order the gallon size (of either this or their "mosquito barrier" variant which is chemically identical but just differently-labeled) and will be spraying our yard weekly, and will be adding canola oil to the mix to give the repellant more staying power. Disney spray their Orlando parks and resorts twice daily, but also keep in mind that being in Florida they are subjected to several torrential rainstorms every week. Here we have a drought situation, so frequent sprayings aren't necessary.

This works!!!!
I’ve been using this for 10 years. Never fails to keep the bugs out of my yard. Smells at first, but it goes away very quickly.

Fairly effective for mosquitoes.
I've used this in my back yard twice. I wouldn't say we are mosquito free but it does appear to be effective and I ordered more for the summer.

Good Protective Barrier Against Pests
This product, especially before use and undiluted, has a very strong, fragrant garlic smell. The Garlic Barrier is aptly named, because it does make an unseen barrier to protect various garden plants. From experience, we can say that garlic can be used to deter rabbits, deer, cats, squirrels, as well as unwanted snails, aphids, borers, mites, beetles, and many other insects. It will deter pollinators, too, so we will only use Garlic Barrier, properly diluted to appropriate strengths, on plants not yet in bloom. To deter certain animals, we use slightly different garlic dilution ratios. We appreciate this product because it is safer than many harmful chemical pesticides and it is more environmentally compatible. We consider this product worth our money to buy it.

Product was not as advertised!
Beware… product concentration is not the same as shown on description photos and info. Product received was vastly diluted. Mixing instructions as advertised show: Thoroughly mix 1 part of Garlic Barrier to 99 parts of water. Product received says: Thoroughly mix 1 part of Garlic Barrier to 9 parts of water. (Example: 14 oz of Garlic Barrier into 128 oz/1 gallon of water). That’s over 10 times less usable solution. I did not use the product after discovering how weak the concentrate sent to me was.

Works for peach leaf curl
This totally works to “cure” peach tree leaf curl in the current season. Don’t wait until the fall and spray a fungicide. I used this earlier in the summer when half the leaves on the tree were diseased. Sprayed it a couple of times. The tree has tripled in size with beautiful, green foliage. I never write reviews but had to add to the raves about the healing powers of this product. I love that the ingredients are just garlic, no bad herbicides (my garden is organic).
