are square hole punches available?

I have not seen any made by Neiko but you can find square hole punches depending on application. If you want it for paper applications, EK Tools makes one. If you want it for wood applications, Lee Valley Tools makes one that you drill an undersize hole first then use their punch to square it up. For metal, Greenlee makes a manual knock-out punch for square holes (up to 14 gauge mild steel). Hassay Savage Co. makes a Rotary square punch (it is a type of Broach). Also, there are broach kits out there. I am sure there are others if you do some research.

Will this tool cut a hole in a copper washer? I had another metal punch that punched through a couple of times, but then broke.

I cut 20 mil (24ga, 0.5 mm) copper sheet all of the time. I have cut 28 mil (0.7 mm) sheet easily. It doesn't do 40 mil (1 mm) very well as the jaws are open very wide. I think most copper flat washers will be more like 0.7 mm and so I should be fine for you. If you want to send me a few washers I'll try them for you. Let me know and I'll give you my address.

My version, acquired jun 2022 is made in China.

In what country is this tool manufactured?

The packaging says “Made in Taiwan”. I can’t find any country of origin labels on the actual tool.
