Not high quality
The Velcro was ripped form the umbrella while I was trying to install it.

Took me forever to figure out, but when I did, perfect!
The zipper where you put the stand had me confused for weeks! Once I figured it out, it has been with me every shoot. Definitely wind sensitive and would not recommend anywhere outdoors with weather variables

Good price, nice entry into softbox lighting
Good price, nice entry into softbox lighting. It installs like an umbrella, with a zippered portion to install around a stand. Combine this with a flash and stand that has an umbrella holder, and you have way more control over your lighting.Build quality is decent. I've had it for almost a year, used it about 25 times. The storage bag is tearing up some, and there are a few threads loose on the umbrella. For someone who us using this constantly, I can see where it wouldn't last. At this price point, why would you expect it to?Install is simple and quick, just like an umbrella. I have had no trouble with the white flash fabric, as some others have had. You can even control the flash optically though the fabric, if you have the flash sensor pointing outward. I use it as an optical slave most of the time, though I'm not doing any extreme distances or syncing. The best part is the color does not seem to be affected by passing through the fabric. My biggest concern was having a slightly off white balance, but that doesn't seem to be the case.If you are buying stuff piece meal, like me, or just want to play with a softbox without much investment, I would recommend this.

Great Value Octobox
This modifier is designed for those who have strobe lights for photos, or continuous CFL bulbs or LED bulbs on stands for video, and want to create a soft modifier option.Pros: Nice soft light, easy to assemble. Flexibility with types of various continuous bulbs. Build quality is not bad.Cons: Limited tilt-ability due t the light stand coming through the bottom. Umbrella pole could be a few inches longer. In my application, I used these with a set of large corn-cob lights (500w equivalents) for video shoots. Since the corn-cobs are very long, they push the limit of the depth of the umbrella and the length of the umbrella pole. It is workable, but the result is the light is pretty much fixed at parallel. Given the size of these, and the circular nature, they still threw enough even, soft light that the lack of tilt was not a big deal. I would recommend these for anyone who is looking for an inexpensive modifier option that is bigger than a normal soft-box, and who would like to breathe additional life into your bulb-based continuous light options. I am sure these would work well with strobes for flash photography. IMO, These are not for you if you use LED panels.

Sturdy umbrella. More parabolic than I expected.
Once I used it correctly it worked great! lol I originally had my speedlight set up as a shoot-through and was like "this sucks". Once I figured out my mistake things improved dramatically. ha ha!Very sturdy. More parabolic than I expected.Cons: The Velcro on the bag (not the umbrella) piece ripped half-way off the first time I pulled it open from the left side. I have to remember to pull it open from the right side until I can secure it. Luckily the bag didn't rip with it. Also, it's hard to fit the diffuser in the bag together with the umbrella portion. I only used it twice so far but I'm sure I'll figure it out. Can't tilt the head too far with a typical light stand so you'll need some sort of adapter or arm-stand if you want to have it tall and angled down at your subject otherwise it's perfect.

Extremely useful, well made
I can only tell you my impressions of this softbox/reflector. Other reviewers may vary! I have used it a few times so far and it's been great. The quality of the soft box is very good- sturdy, thick material. Definitely press the point against the floor while opening until it clicks into place. The slot fits easily over my recently purchased Godox S-type bracket for speed lights (really love that item!). As others have said, you can't really tip it down very much, but I'm doing outdoor portraits mostly and the angle of the soft box is fine. The diffusion material velcros on easily. I'm shooting Godox speedlights with built in radio control, so I don't need to mess with the setup since I control settings from my on camera flash. Looks like to me it will last for a long time. Hey, if it doesn't, I'll buy another one!

Good quality and excellent
Easy to set up, and seems sturdy enough, although I have only used it so far indoors. It attaches similar to an umbrella, so an adapter with a hole for the umbrella is required to attach it to your light stand or tripod. We shall see if it can stand the test of time, but for such a cheap price, I cannot complain. It seems sturdy enough, and doesn't feel cheap when folding and unfolding from storage. As long as the diffuser panel is on correctly, it softens and spreads light fairly well and is a decent size for those that are looking for a octabox that is easy to operate by yourself. It isn't overly large where it becomes a hassle to move, while still being large enough to provide a nice spread of light.

Great value, decent construction, but understand the possible limitation of parabolic geometry...
Great quality of light. Silver lining inside makes it more efficient when compared to traditional white lining.Since this is in umbrella form factor, can easily be used with speedlights or bare bulb flash with correct light stand adapter. For this price, this cannot be beat. One caveat -this umbrella utilizes a parabolic geometry, but is not a true parabolic umbrella, meaning that it is only good as a light source close to your subjects. It concentrates the light, so if you place it far away from the subject for say, a wide environmental portrait, you will get a hot spot looking quality of light. For this price however and for mid/tight portrait work, this cannot be beat!Last remark: I took this outside for a field shoot, fell twice at ~8 ft on a light stand and held up fine. I also had an Impact umbrella, which fell, and broke at first fall.

Great output. Compact and easily fits in a duffel bag.
This is a great little octa, and I always carry with me for use with flashguns. It's easy and quick to set up and put away, and the quality of reflective material as well as the diffuser is really good.About the only downside is that there's a limit to how much you can angle this softbox downwards. I don't think it's possible to push it beyond 20-30 degrees. This isn't that much of a problem, but if you want to feather the light it does become an issue. The workaround is to push the umbrella spindle down, but you can only push it so far before it either starts hitting the diffuser, or the flash gun is too close to the centre of the softbox.Regardless, the quality of light is pretty good and the problem isn't a dealbreaker... more of a design oversight.
