How do you tighten these if the metal tops are smooth- can’t insert a screwdriver to hold bolt in place when tightening so it just turns and turns?

The metal top has a squared off area underside that sits into a squared off hole in crate so it seats into that which holds the meal screw in place while you screw black nut in. I hold onto the end of metal screw pulling it upward which keeps it in the squared area which helps to steady it.

These are metal bolts with plastic nuts. Most carriers seem to require both be metal. Anyone had a problem with that?

They worked great for me. I travelled with large carriers that were strapped in the back of my pickup on 4 hour trips and taken apart to carry them into the buildings a lot and never had a malfunction in the last 2 years. So...... You decide

Lost bolts in a move. Lip measures exactly 1 1/4", but I see there's a 1/4" recess on both sides (diam. 1/2"). Will these bolts work or larger?
