Handmade Lampshades Paperback – October 20, 2015

I was going to order another book with this one. I am glad I ordered this one. Great ideas and very detailed information regarding the making of lamps. I am a novice. I made a lamp in a class while in Australia and that was with someone directing me what to do. With this book, I think I could do a lamp with no help....well with this book of course.

I tried a little DIY update on a few lampshades using an online tutorial, and got such enjoyment from the process I decided to turn it up a notch by buying a couple of books on making lampshades. I have read this book cover to cover, and have oohed and ahhed over every page. I am so impressed with the detailed instructions, and I am so excited to continue this venture! The book is absolutely inspiring!This book goes beyond the basics, and is probably best if you've first tried a few beginner's projects.Included in the back of the book are websites that inspire a particular design, making for a colorful supplement.

I cannot wait to make my own lampshades! I'm finding frames at thrift stores for $2.00 or $3.00 and covering them with the inherited mountain of fabric from my Mom's fabric art stash. It's another way to personalize my home and the instructions are terrific. I'm normally a video gal. One tip...take the book to a Kinkos and get it spiral bound so it will lay flat so you can read it as you work. Love this book!!! Is there a Facebook Group for the readers I wonder?

Very comprehensive book with some good ideas. Very well explained step by step process to make your own lampshades.

Great directions

Love the book. A great variety of ideas. Usually you buy these craft books thinking you will get a lot of ideas and you end up with perhaps 10 and the rest put in the book just to add pages. But this book is filled with great ideas. I would definitely recommend it.
