Only 4☆'s cuz no idea what the UV protector is
It's difficult leaving a review on this product because 1) I don't know the UV protector is in this sunscreen and 2) the seller doesn't know what the UV protector and 3) I emailed the company and they won't say. So, does it work as a sunscreen? Most definitely. I use it every day under my foundation which is also SPF 50.I suspect they aren't disclosing because the UV filters in this product are not approved for inclusion in sunscreens in the US. I.E. to call a product a sunscreen in the US, you can only include a small list of filters. Therefore, it's likely a sunscreen in other countries but cant be classified as such in US.I know this works. I used it the weekend of our MS Bike while I was outside for nearly 14 hours of mostly sunny conditions.I have very oily skin, live in Texas, and am 47 years old. I use prescription retin a every night for acne, and fine lines and wrinkles. Using retin a (tretinoin) makes a face more susceptible to burns. So its important for me that my SPF protect my skin and that is why I layer my SPF. I do not have sensitive skin. The day of the Bike, I used this under my SPF 50 foundation (channel) and powdered thru the day with SPF 20 mineral powders (physicians formul) as well as sprayed a SPF 50 setting spray (supergoop) ever 90 minutes. I did not burn. You may suggest that I didn't burn because of the layers of SPF I used. It's very possible. But on day two of the ride, I was outside from dawn until 11 am. The only SPF I used was this product by lotus. I applied it twice. I also did not burn.I love this product. It actually dries down on my face, again I'm uber oily. It smells great with the tiniest bit of a floral scent (which doesn't bother me too much as my skin isn't sensitive). I use it every morning under my foundation. FYI, it enhances pores, but I consider that a small sacrifice. I regularly do not have to powder my face thru the day when I use this as my SPF. In my opinion, this is also a great primer. It adds moisture to my skin, as my face is easily dehydrated. Makeup last quite well (12+ hours). My skin doesn't peel much (retin a use does cause me peeling) and my texture (also from retin a) is lessened. I don't have to exfoliate as often.Overall, I love this product and think it's a beautiful all around skincare and dare I say, sunscreen. If you have similar skin to mine, you will love it.

I hate sunscreen, but love this stuff!
Let me start by saying I HATE sunscreen. I have hated sunscreen my entire life. Even as a kid I couldn't stand putting that thick, gross white stuff on my face. Add in my naturally oily skin, and my dread of sunscreen only got worse as a teen and adult. This stuff, though, is AMAZING! It was the first sunscreen I tried that I actually kind of enjoyed putting on my face. The texture is kind of like a gel-- the color is light but transparent. It goes on like a dream and dries quickly. It feels cooling and light instead of like you're suffocating your face. It dries matte (yay!) but actually leaves my skin with a subtle healthy looking glow. The finish is completely dry though and not tacky or sticky. My least favorite thing about it is the smell. Honestly, it doesn't smell great. Luckily I usually only notice it as it's going on and for a little while after that. Now, this sunscreen isn't something that keeps my oily skin matte all day, so if you have oily skin like me don't expect it to work like your favorite primer. By the way, I spent the last two years living on a tropical island, so expecting it to keep me matte was asking a lot. I sometimes do wear it with a primer underneath. My favorite primer is the smashbox photofinish pore minimizing primer, and on top of this the sunscreen does cake up a tiny bit-- it's not an issue or really visible unless you're trying to put makeup on top, which doesn't go on as smoothly. If I use the sunscreen without that primer however, I find my foundation goes on nicely.Basically, if you are a sunscreen-hater like me you should check out this sunscreen! It might change your mind and you won't have to feel guilty about running around sunscreen-less and ruining your skin anymore.

Not good for me
Firstly it's gel based , so I didn't get a feeling of moisturization or anything, which was expected. So I apply my moisturizer first before applying the sunscreen. But after few minutes it starts peeling off my skin.

Truly mattifies !
As someone with excessively oily skin, this sunscreen is now my daily holy grail product ! The gel formulation goes on slightly tacky but dries to a matte finish in about 60 seconds after application. So far, I have avoided any sunburn using this and will further test its effectiveness once the warmer months arrive.I have searched for a non-greasy sunscreen for a LONG time, and Lotus has given me everything I wanted !

Great for oily/combination skin! No cast and very light weight!
This is an awesome sunscreen for people with oily/combination skin. I am currently on the last bit of my second tube. It has a gel-like consistency and feels VERY light on the skin. It dries down matte and is clear so it doesn't leave a white cast. It's great for everyday use if you work in an office or are running errands. It's perfect under makeup. The sun protection will diminish quickly if you're working in the sun. My only issue with this is that it can pile when dry if you rub any part of your face.

probably the best SPF for oily skin
Floored at how great this is! I have two back ups, since it's hard to know when it is going to be out of stock.PROs: It does control oil / excessive shine. It doesn't dry the skin out. No break outs or clogged pores from this formula. (Tinted one is a MASSIVE NO.) It has a fantastic SPF/++++ rating. (Never buy US sun screens, they suck.) Nice smell, but doesn't linger. More product (contains 3.5 OZ) than most other SPFs you could buy for the face (average Asian SPF has 1.7 OZ) - but at the same price.CONs: Not totally matte all day long. (Still the best I've found.) Hard to know availability.

You found it
I've been looking for a high SPF, broad spectrum sunscreen to use on my face that won't have ANY cast (not even a teeny bit) and won't make my face shine-city: this is it! It goes on almost like a primer, leaves a finish that is pleasantly dewy, and doesn't go all shiny on me later. Fragrance is mild, and overall this is my fav of all the face sunscreens I've tried! Will definitely re-buy.

Probably the only good matte SPF50 gel around 300 bucks
It's the second purchase. Liked the product. Works really well for oily skins. Just apply it and puff little powder and you're good to go.Just remember SPF50 doesn't mean it will last you all day. The number denotes how much UV ray it can block. An SPF 15 product blocks about 94% of UV rays; an SPF 30 blocks 97%; and an SPF 50 blocks about 99%. None blocks 100%. It's recommended to reapply your sunscreen gel/lotion every 2-3 hours. Don't forget to puff a little powder after reapply. And then once in two weeks, use some herbal or professional DeTan pack like O3+ or something.

Best For summers and Oily skin
It will be so good for oily skin.. It wont make you sweat or wont feel greasy.. It gildes and penetrates into skin nicely.. The only con is that it have parabens.. Cant believe lotus company uses parabens as it claims to be herbal.. So if u dont have any problem with parabens.. You can blindly go for it.. You wont be disappointed.. Its filp cap is tight and wont leak.. Its travel friendly also.. -Sri

Happy to have it
UPDATE: I am using it from last one month and it does what it clames. Completely satisfied 👍People having oily skin suffer a lot when it comes to finding a sunscreen as we all know most of the sunscreens have an oily texure..Last summer, My dermatologist suggested me any matte sunscreen with has SPF 50 and specially PA+++, so he suggested me Suncros matte finish soft Spf 50+ with PA+++...but still that felt greasy on my oily skin with upper matte finish in summer though it worked out in winters. Now i was finding other sunscreen with SPF 50 and PA+++ for this upcoming summer... Thank God i found this gel base sunscreen with spf 50 and PA+++ as my doctor told me to look at PA+++ sign that is most important than spf...will update my review after using this sunscreen..

Really Wanted to Love It
I really wanted to love this because it's extremely difficult to find a sunscreen that suits my dark skin tone and oily skin type. The usual problems I face are white marks or an even more oily complexion - hence, why I was hoping this product would solve them both.Pros:- Does actually dry matte- Doesn't leave a white residueCons:- Quite thick and unpleasant to apply, in my personal opinion. Feels like it just sits on the skin.- Have to be careful not to rub in too much or touch face afterwards, because it will definitely start to ball up/peel. I don't wear makeup but I can imagine this being problematic for those that do.- Unsure of whether it provides the protection needed as I have been left deeply tanned after using (despite spending only a short amount of time in the sun).Long story short, I had hopes and desperately wanted it to be "The One" but alas, I will have to keep looking. Had I felt that the protection was being provided, I most certainly would have compromised and lived with the other cons.

Sunscreen or gum?
Poor sunscreen! It just comes off like a peeling gel. my skin type is combination to oily and I bought this sunscreen for summer. Even greasy sunscreens will do the purpose of sun protection but this one.. It's not at all useful. If u have done this in your childhood... I used to apply gum/fevicol on my hand, let it dry and peel it off.... This sunscreen is exactly like that. Absolutely hate this product. Don't think it happens only on my hand by seeing the picture I posted.... It literally happens on my face too!
