Stainless Steel Comb Practice Trainer for Beginner Unsharpened Blade Folding Tool Set

The product seems to be made of good material with a decent weight to it, especially at this price. Paint on the product is a nice, smooth finish, not spotty or bumpy. Product was purchased as a practice tool for butterfly knives (balisongs), which are very restricted under California law. The comb feature is secondary for my purposes, but it is a comb that works. As a practice tool, the product can be enhanced by labeling one side as the "knife" edge to practice avoiding the blade for real knives/balisongs.

------LASTED FOR A WEEK AND A HALF---------- A functional comb thats best suited for straight hair, but may cause discomfort upon usage on curly hair.- Price: Very cheap considering the average price of normal balisongs, and this product is worth considering seeing as how you're probably looking for a <$20 comb/trainer.- It lasted for a week and a half of intense usage and drops (drops below 2 feet on industrial carpet); after a trick, one of the "spikes" pointing out on the singular metal piece of comb, which functions to separate the handles from colliding with each other and helps keep the comb in place when closed and open, popped out. Unfortunately, replacements did not come in the little "toolkit" the product comes with- On that note, the product comes with a small plastic bag that has two replacement main screws that attach the comb to the handles and two more smaller replacement screws that can replace the ones seen at the bottom-most parts of the handle (by the latch). There is also an "L" shaped screw-driver.- This product is relatively heavier compared to other balisongs considering the fact that it's made of metal; This makes tricks more harder than they should be, so I would advise against using this product as a beginner with ambition to master the art. This should really be used for style at the most.- Out of the box, I've had to loosen the screws attaching the comb to the handles because they were on too tight and prevented for clean, smooth movement between tricks. I also had to oil the hinges which drastically improved the smoothness of the product, although it did makes the product noisy in the closed position when you would move it side-to-side.- Noise: Very, very noisy, mostly due to the latch not being supported by a spring. Thus, it smacks on the mental handles repeatedly, even when opening and closing it.- The latch makes this product incredibly hard to close. I wouldn't be surprised if you had to use two hands to barely slide the latch through and close it. However, I would prefer this than a product whose latch was looser.- If you're planning to use this product for tricks that require you to swing the blade around your finger, be mindful of the relatively big obtrusions sticking out of the comb since they might pinch your skin as the comb and handle meet.Verdict: Get this product for the best use of your <$20 if:- It's a present to a younger one: It won't pose any danger, especially if they aren't too keen in learning hardcore flipping- You want to dip your toes in the art: Maybe you heard of your friend doing some flips, or on some video, and figured to try and get a trainer, but then everyone's saying that you have to buy something >$50. Fear not, this product is suitable for those on a budget, want to look cool with the comb, and see if it's your thing.Last Remarks: Considering it's a comb, it is going to naturally be of lower quality compared to other trainers. But if you want to look cool doing some simple tricks and aren't really into the whole "flipping" business, this product suits that.

This is a fun comb that I carry around with me now and I'm really impressed with the construction of it. I have a couple butterfly knifes and this comb is more heavy duty and fun to practice with. It also comes with additional hardware if any screws go missing. Stoked on it

Very nice, heavier than I expected but that is because I expected cheaper build for the price. You have to loosen the comb slightly but it comes with the tools to do so.

It was actually really well weighted and it'll work quite well as a beard comb I like it its fun to learn with something thats functional

Great product, it just needed to have the screws loosened a bit. Very durable, I've dropped it countless times and it still looks and feels brand new. Probably the best butterfly trainer you'll get for this little money.

The action could be improved upon. Added oil and loosed still stiff.

after 3 or so hours of use it has not broken down, no screws have come loose and has stayed together for the time I have used it.

I loved the grip on both handles and the overall ergonomics felt amazing. Works well though the comb hurts to use, a cool gimmick though i’d pick an actual comb over the balisong.
