I've paid three times as much for a small jar from a grocery store. When I opened this package, I could actually smell nutmeg. I can't say the same when I've opened small jars. In order to keep them as fresh as possible, I just refilled my empty cabinet jar with a few of these nuts and then resealed the package and put them in the freezer. (Nuts have volatile oils that will spoil over time, so the freezer is best for all nuts.) The flavor is beautiful -- soft and fragrant. Not weak, but doesn't 'bite' like some other types of nutmeg (and cinnamon) I've used. I'm sold on Ceylon spices, and these nutmegs did not disappoint in any way. They're large (which makes them actually easier to handle), high-quality nuts in a huge quantity. How could you go wrong with that? (Powdered nutmeg is worthless pantry dust. Keep a nutmeg in your pocket, like Alton Brown does, and grate it on a microplane for a totally different and pleasant experience.)

This was vastly more aromatic just sniffing the opened bag than another that I purchase at the same time for about the same price that smelled somewhat vacant. It's good I think, not being an expert, but I cook with nutmeg daily so maybe I am an expert. My wife commented that the other might be good if I wanted a more muted, less over powering aroma. That sort of says it all. Plenty of aroma in this bag.

I have always purchased whole nutmeg at my local health food store. About two weeks ago, I was going to buy more and the price was unreal. In a 1.5 ounce spice jar of approximately 12 to 14 nutmegs, the price was 11 to 12 dollars and they were not organic. This package of True Organic Ceylon Whole Nutmeg has just about twice the amount, maybe a little more for 8.99 ( current price as of 4-07-24.) The aroma and taste are wonderful and the price is fantastic. I will continue to purchase this item if the price doesn’t increase to the point where I would have to find another company. The package is thick which I believe helps to keep the contents fresh. Thank you True Organic and Amazon for an excellent product. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Nuts are pretty small. Fresh ground is so e better than pre ground. Use this for all my holiday baking and a grind or two as a garnish on holiday drinks

Great flavor as i grated some into cookies. The package they came in seals very well. Very nutmeg fragrant! I would buy again.

Bought it for my mom and she likes it.

It's way more fragrant than the ground. I used it for Brandy Alexanders for Christmas and they were a big hit. The fresh nutmeg made all the difference.
