My go to to lighten my hair
The only lightening spray I use to lighten my blonde hair. Gives it a nice, natural color. Smells great too!

Works well for gradual lightening, but you may go through the bottle quickly
Review: I’ve been using the John Frieda Go Blonder Lightening Spray consistently, and overall I really liked the results. It definitely does what it claims — my hair gradually became lighter and brighter rather than patchy or brassy, which I appreciated. The change isn’t instant, but with regular use it’s noticeable and looks natural. That said, I did find myself using more product than expected to get the results I wanted. I have medium-length hair, and it took fairly generous application over multiple uses to see a clear difference, so the bottle didn’t last as long as I hoped. What I liked: • Gradual, natural-looking lightening • Easy to apply and control where it goes • Didn’t damage or dry out my hair when used as directed Things to note: • You may need to use more product for visible results • Bottle can run out quickly with frequent use Overall, this is a solid option if you want subtle, controlled lightening without committing to dye. Just be aware you might go through the bottle faster than expected depending on your hair length and how light you want to go. I’d still recommend it, especially for gradual results. Ive used a couple bottles of this stuff and will definitely keep ordering in the future.

Works Great for Gradual Lightening!
I’ve been using the John Frieda Go Blonder Lightening Spray for a while now, and I have to say, it really works! I wanted to lighten my hair gradually without damaging it too much, and this spray does exactly that. What I Love: ✅ Gradual, Natural-Looking Lightening – It doesn’t bleach your hair instantly, but with a few uses, you start seeing a noticeable difference. My hair looks brighter and sun-kissed instead of brassy or artificial. ✅ Easy to Use – Just spray it on damp hair, focus on the areas you want to lighten, and use heat (a blow dryer or sun exposure) to activate it. No mixing, no mess. ✅ No Harsh Bleach Smell – It smells way better than traditional hair bleach, which is a huge plus. ✅ Doesn’t Make My Hair Feel Too Dry – Some lighteners leave hair straw-like, but this one has hydrogen peroxide without feeling too damaging. I still use conditioner just to be safe, though. What Could Be Better: ❌ Not for Dark Hair – This works best for blonde or light brown hair. If you have darker hair, it might not work as well or could leave brassiness. ❌ Needs Heat to Work – You have to blow dry or be in the sun for it to lighten, so it’s not an instant, leave-in solution. ❌ Can Cause Dryness with Overuse – Like any lightener, if you use it too often without deep conditioning, your hair might feel a bit dry. Final Thoughts: Overall, this is a great product for gradual, controlled lightening, especially for people who want a natural sun-kissed look without committing to bleach. I’ve purchased it multiple times and will keep using it! Highly recommend for blondes or those looking for subtle highlights.

Brunette to Coppery Brown
I am brunette. Not all the way brown/black, but pretty dark brown. I don’t use as directed (obviously lol). I spray on the ends of dry hair ‘til it’s soaked, run it through with my hands, brush it, and then let it dry when I go for outside or on a run. My hair has reddish undertones, so the spray just makes that pop more. My hair is now a rusty or copper brown ombre after 2 uses, which I really like and hope to lighten even more with more uses. I do have an old bleached strip in my hair, and the product makes that lighter but also seems to spread the bleach a little bit ?? (I could be tripping) It does dry your hair out and damage a bit, even without blow dry or flat iron heat. So I do oil treatments on my ends once a week to help. But it doesn’t make my hair brassy and wiry, and it doesn’t completely fry me either. Just a little damage, as with any lightening procedure or solution. Good product.

Long but informative review for the nervous
My hair has been several different colors with the last being black (box dye). I waited a year with using hair masks regularly before attempting to go blonde. I’ve only bleached it once so far and got a bright brown and some blonde in some areas. I have damage from all I have done to it previously but I do get hair cuts every 6-8 weeks. I do use the John Frieda go blonde shampoo and conditioner while using this product. Based off of reviews I decided to use this product with extreme caution. 1 people stated it causes breakage: to prevent that i only wash my hair once a week (if I decide to use this product after each wash if not I just use the go blonde shampoo and conditioner and wait about 3 to 4 days between washes) I use coconut oil in my hair for at least over night some times 2 days in braids before each wash. I do not use this product right after washing I let it air dry and I wait until the next day to use it with a straightener. I also use an old brush to spray the product onto instead of a direct mist onto my hair I brush from ends to where my balayage begins 2 people had chemical burns: I use a hair cape and a towel around my neck when I use this product It may sound like over kill but like I previously stated my hair has damage already so I’m trying to lighten my hair the safest I can. I have been using this product for a month and a half so far I noticed I’m not getting Huge drastic changes but I expected that since I only use it once a week, none the less I do see a difference. I would say if you’re interested but the reviews have you freaked out, try my tips. My hair does not have an increased amount (or if any) breakage I have sensitive skin and I havnt had any chemical burns with my preventative measures. The way I do it is not for fast results nor do I claim to be a professional but my hair and skin appreciates my preventative measures.

Lightens hair but smell and dryness are drawbacks
This spray does help lighten hair gradually, especially when used with heat styling. I noticed some brightening after a few uses, so it works as intended. However, the smell isn’t very pleasant, and with frequent use my hair started to feel a bit dry. It’s effective for lightening, but I’d recommend using it in moderation to avoid damaging hair quality.

This stuff is great
I don't like using too much ammonia/bleach on my hair, but sometimes I feel like highlighting parts of it. My scalp is pretty sensitive, so I don't want to mess around with all of that bleach. In comes Go Blonder Lightening Spray. Now, a couple of things you should know: • Remember good ol' Sun-In? (I know, it's still around) It's like that. Don't expect too much of a difference • The product directions specify to use it with as much heat as possible. Let me explain that, if that looks suspicious or annoying, or you simply don't understand: This is actual bleach, just in a different application method and a bit weaker than pure extreme bleach that would whiten your hair in no time. It's "gradual", kind of. The thing is that bleach works with heat, and that's why in hair salons they use aluminum foils on your hair with lightening, because it traps the moisture in and creates warmth (kind of like a sauna for your strands). Now, with this, you don't need to use foil or anything, just use direct heat (that's also why Sun-In probably didn't work for you sometimes — it's a bit of a gamble when you're just "going out in the sun", how would you know how scorching it's going to be?) So remember, using heat is just like they do at the salon, just.. Simpler, I guess. • The reason it says "controlled lightening" is because it's not as strong as a salon. Don't expect immediate results, or going from black to blonde with this. That amount of lightening should really be done professionally, just so you don't end up with fried orange hair (lightening black or dark brown hair would cause redness, unless done professionally and, preferably, gradually) • Some people have been complaining that this ruins their hair, fries it, etc. Once again, guys, THIS IS BLEACH. Don't use it so sparingly as to ruin your own hair. Would you throw bleach on your hair every day and expect it to be fine? Think about that. Also, using hot tools isn't best for your hair, so don't do it all too much. As I've mentioned before, if you're in for a big change and can't wait to use it all up to get that blonde look, I'd recommend seeing a professional at least once, for that first major change. Don't count on a little spray bottle all that much, you know? Using too much bleach obviously would ruin your hair, but you guys know that, you just probably never thought about this as bleach. It's like putting too much bleach on your white clothes. A little bleach would brighten them and bring back the shine and cleanliness, and a ton would probably cause damage to the fabric, because it's such a harsh substance. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product, with all considerations included in my recommendations. Hope I helped, guys

Perfeito

Works
I’ve been using this spray for around four months. First I was using without a hair dryer, just was applying and going outside for a sunbathing for a while. The results was there but slightly. Then I took a gap around few weeks and then started using this spray with hair dryer+sun both for around 15-30 min. The result was better and faster but it won’t bleach your hair as an arctic white. I was using just a spray, without any bleaching shampoo or conditioner. My hair colour is natural and hair didn’t become too much dry, a little bit only. Pic is before I stared to use it and after 4 months.
