Perfect replacement for broken old one. Includes all necessary hardware. Used with my old lock cylinder.

I bought 2 of these, 1 for a rental property, other for my own home. The thicknesses of the sliding doors were different, but both fit perfectly. This is simple to install into any 'standard' sized sliding door lock, just line up the 2 screws and you are done for each side, it takes minutes. It looks attractive, and with all the different inserts, it is easy to find one that will allow your door to lock. A really great value that I am very happy with. I purchased the Prime-Line C handle to go with this. Same company, but the handle set included no screws. I now have to find just SLIGHTLY longer screws to work with the handle. If I wanted to go to a hardware store to buy screws to make this work with your other product, I would have bought everything at the big box store to begin with. Just a few mm longer and it would have worked. Just charge $.20 more and include longer and shorter screws to accommodate your own handles, and different thickness sliding doors, alternatively, include the screws with your handle set. This is no fault of this set, so I'm still giving 4 stars, but I still have an unusable sliding door handle after buying 2 of your products.

Perfect replacement for your sliders.

I bought this along with the C 1034 door handle -- our door handle finally broke and the (vintage 1980) latch mechanism broke a long time ago. I ordered them separately because I wanted the dark finish mechanism (to match my patio door) without a keyed lock (there is a set with Handle included, in chrome). I want to tell you that this middle aged+ 'handy girl' took out the old mechanism, and installed the new one including lining up the jamb keeper and figuring out which length latch was required for my old door punch out. When it came time to affix the handle I called my husband for help as four hands are better than two at that point. No more than 30 minutes from start to finish -- one of those DIY projects that actually went without a hitch. One of the screws was a tight fit so I dry fit everything before assembly which saved a little aggravation. Nice quality material, I was pleasantly surprised! Had them installed but they don't really lock or stay in the lock position. Wouldnt purchase again.

Product is of generally poor quality and the mechanism(s) are loose and tend to bind. It's been about a week since I installed the handle set and took it out to adjust it only to find out it's broken inside.

My doors are old and local brick and mortar businesses lead me around their store with no results. I spent a lot of time figuring out why old lock wouldn't work. A broken piece not evident until I had disassembled it. Usually I don't read instructions unless I get stuck. I don't recommend not to read the instructions but know that it only took me 5 minutes to install, including slight adjustment downward of locking gizmo that it slides onto. My old set was white but I like this better, easier to see overall as well as seeing locking mechanisms. So satisfied I bought another for the left hand side rather than wait for it to break like right hand side. Why not? The price is great.

Installation took 2 min. Good that different sizes of the latch are provided. Hopefully it will last. Unclear what material this one is. Not magnetic. The old one is aluminum and the material just break.
