Fantastic bundle for tots!
My two year old son recently displayed an interest in books and reading. We already knew Leap Frog delivers exceptional products, so when I stumbled across this bundle, I knew it was the perfect match. My son hasn't fully grasped the concept of holding the tag itself, but he absolutely loves to look through the books and have me control the tag so that he can listen.Update May 22, 2013: We still use this product everyday! My sons works thsi like a pro now (he just turned 3). It is very easy to use, the stories are super cute, and the travel case is wonderful! I love that when you turn it on and off, it speaks to your child and uses your child's name. This product is also very durable. I think because it's rounded, my son has thrown it across our living room several times. Nothing was affected! Yay! Great buy!

My 3 1/2 yr-old loves this!!!
This is an excellent value. The memory of the Tag Jr. is small, it will not fit all of the books included. It will fit the pack of 6 or 7 books and the bigger Scout book, only one will not fit. I gave it a '4' on educational value because it is too big to show which word it is reading and it reads the sentence you touch all at once. I will definitely be upgrading to the Tag pretty soon which reads words individually. My son absolutely loves it though and it keeps him from always wanting to watch cartoons!

Daughter likes it. Still disappointed though
I bought this with high hopes for the toy, despite the reviews. I was totally disappointed when we got it. The pages are not that durable. They are from that thick board book stuff, but on the very first day I had to glue pages together- from MY mishandling, not even my toddler's! The book quality is different from the main set and the individual books. The big set is much cheaper quality. The my pal reader only holds about 3 books. Yup thats it. And you have to attach it to your computer everytime you want to change. This is my major gripe- for the cost of the product it would be so easy for leap frog to do at least double what they have. I am a total computer person, and this is burdensome because the program is very slow due to all the clicks needed to actually upload and remove. The book carier is neat, but only holds about 3 regular sized books or all of this set. If it werent for the fact my daughter seems to really enjoy these I would rate them 2 stars. You can teach your own children more info, for much less money using any book. Seriously. Just ask them to point to things, tell them whether faces are happy or sad, count the objects on the page. Thats it.Our daughter got this for her 2nd birthday and can use the Pal properly when it asks her to find things. I wan't sure if she was too young or not, so if that helps you figure out age appropriateness...My suggestion: Don't buy these highly overpriced books. If you do- wait till you find a REALLY good sale. They're ok. But way overpriced, very small memory, and only fair quality.

Love it
I purchased this for my 2 1/2 year old son for Christmas and set it up weeks before. It was easy to install the leapfrog system on my laptop and to download the audio to the laptop. It was also easy to transfer to the handheld system. I wish it had more storage. I was able to get 6 books on it. It is easy to hook up and switch books. But my little boy is an avid book lover and 6 books is just not alot for him. He loves the interaction and it gives hima way to "read" when I am busy cleaning, cooking, etc. Then we read together at bedtime these and other books. The tote makes it very travel friendly and the tote can hold all 6 books I have downloaded on it. Overall, I am extremely satisfied and looking forward to him being old enough to try the Tag generation!!

Disappointed!
This toy advertised that a free teddy bear came along with a 75 dollar purchase of toys in this category. I bought another 50 dollars of toys advertised as being in this category to get the bear and now Amazon says I misunderstood-the 64 dollar toy was on the list but the other 150.00 worth of toys were only advertising the bear, they were not actually on the list qualified for the bear therefor I only had 64 dollars toward the bear. According to customer service I did not qualify for the bear. I would never have thought Amazon.com would conduct such a shady affair. I am a Pediatrician who has bought thousands of dollars worth of children's products from amazom.com over the past decade but I won't be so trusting of them in the future. Target.com, Walmart.com and Old Navy.com will get my children's business in the future!
