What happens if the polarity is reversed? will it kill the led? is there some kind of polarity protection built into it?

The wires are black and red, so I had no problems with polarity. I do not believe reversing the polarity will destroy the less.

Will this light interfere with vhf as led's are prone to do?

I did not hear any interference in the VHF radio.
