Moen 100112 Monticello Aerator, 2.2 Gpm, Male Thread, Chrome

Had the screen go out on a 16-year old faucet. Not the original owner, so had no idea of the model#. Looked on the back and saw the number. This is perfect, except mine is brass...I just removed the brass and put the screen and washer from this one in. I won't take credit for the great idea of buying this one at $12 verses the brass at $35, another reviewer made that suggestion. I am just posting this review to confirm to anyone looking that it is the correct part an good idea if you don't need the ring you can order the cheaper part. I was not able to find anywhere just the filter/screen part....many look the same but was worried it may not fit. I figured by reposting the good idea it may help someone in case they don't see the other review. Came very quick and is high quality.

The 100112 is the same shape as the original aerator that came with the 7700 series, but was not, unfortunately, available in oil-rubbed bronze. Accidentally sheered the threaded part off of the one we had installed a couple years ago. This one fits and we can live with chrome , until we can get another in ORB.Couldn't find the 7700 series on the Moen website to confirm the part number, and the original paperwork doesn't show the model -- just "7700 Series"; our plumber didn't write the exact model number in the space provided. If you're looking for the the Platinum model, it's 7700 without any additional numbers/letters. Per the Moen website: Turn your spout to face due east, and the model number is visible on the lower back of the spout.

The100112P is polished brass, not "peened" as listed. It has 15/16" male threads (why not so in the description), and fits many Montice!lo lavatory and kitchen faucets. Moen's recommended #100113 restricts flow to 1.5 GPM, which is too puny for anyone not in a desert. The price of the polished brass version is absurd, especially when the only reason for replacement was that the original "polished brass" aerator was in fact, brass plating, which wore off.

This is a replacement for a faucet I purchased in 2007. It fits perfectly and there are no leaks.The negative is that the water comes out much slower than the original aerator and a lot more air is in the water stream. This is fine when rinsing dishes but not so great when you’re holding and filling a large pitcher with water!

It arrived quickly, was nicely packaged and worked perfectly. While I can't expalin it, I've found that Moen OEM parts consistently work better and last longer than lower cost after-market replacements. It's odd because they all look identical to me and we're just talking about water flowing through simple geometric shapes - but there is a noticable differece.I've also found through experience that it's really important to check part numbers carefully and visually inspect your faucet before ordering to be sure you get the right piece for your specific Moen faucet. In my case, there were multiple internal parts (that are not interchangeable) for my faucet. Just looking at a picture and choosing a part can get you in trouble quickly, at least with Moen parts.

Authentic Moen replacement part. Exact part I needed for my bathroom faucet. Old one had broken and worn out insert and was corroded. Little pricey. Price could have been less but I did it myself and saved a huge Plumber's bill.

The original aerator due to hard water, had buildup on the aerator. This unit is identical to the original, but it provide more spray with less water. Great quality and fast delivery.

We had a small leak under the sink and much to my surprise, this part in the faucet solved the problem.
