Broken Screen: Expanding The Image, Breaking The Narrative: 26 Conversations with Doug Aitken

I was pleasantly surprised by Aitken's book and interview style. However familiar you are with the artists, their work and/or their mediums, Aitken draws from the wealth of knowledge, experience and talent that these artists have to offer. Although I would have preferred to have seen more live performance/theatre representation, the interviews span a wide range of dynamic individuals/generations. It really challenged me within my own artistic practice to dig deeper and always work from a deep personal connection.

As a film editor, this book is particularly amazing to me. I see it as the textbook I couldn't find in school. It really should be in the curriculum for anyone interested in film, art and music...pretty much everyone. Each interview comes across as what I imagine it really was: a casual conversation between artists...artists relevant to most everything we see today. An eclectic collection of people with insight you might not get anywhere else.Read it and lets expand the conversation.

Il libro è fatto davvero molto bene, raccoglie 26 conversazioni tra Aitken e altri artisti contemporanei. È costruito in modo tale da non creare una lettura lineare, ma scegliendo le conversazioni che più interessano, le quali sono intervallate da grandi fotografie ed impaginazioni grafiche dei lavori degli artisti in questione e dei concetti da loro espressi.La consegna è avvenuta entro i termini previsti ed il libro è arrivato in ottime condizioni!
