No contact camping
No need to stop for ice every two days. Makes so I only have to interact with a gas pump to go on long camping trips. It's a great fridge I have it going to a goal zero 1000 works for two days once cooled down. Car charger and solar 50-watt panel makes it go longer.

Cool down time
I received this item on Friday at 2pm, I was waiting for UPS to drop it off then leave to go camping. My Goal zero waiting in the truck. It was dropped off at 2pm exact and cut it right out of the box and put it in my hot Tacoma (AZ 104 degrees) plugged wall socket plug in;in and it went from the low 100โs to 32 degrees within 35 minutes without the boost on. So far itโs been awesome. On top of that it was beyond simple to connect to app and see the stats from my phone. This is as user friendly as it gets! Going to make a short YouTube video about it in the next couple of days! Edit- made a short video on YouTube with my iPhone. Called ARB Zero 73Q/69l how long will it last Yeti Goal Zero 1000

Quit Cooling/Freezing After 2yrs, 4 mnths
Great Fridge. I would purchase again. Fridge quit cooling after 2yrs & 4 months. I'm disappointed it didn't last longer. Not sure what problem is. Just started looking into it. I don't think it's under warranty. I'll update when repaired. I have run this fridge freezer everyday since purchased. Use as 2nd freezer in garage when not using in my 2019 Ford Expedition... Going to reach out to ARB for some insight on what problem could be.... Buy on if you can!!!

JUST DONโT
The unit has been in use less than a year!!! I paid over $1800.00 for it. You either loose your grocery and pay to box it and ( they will send the label). Second option they will send the manual and you fix it yourself. The First problem, I did the diagnosis, Fixed the problem (The sent the PCB). Not even a week later I am dealing with another problem and the process repeats itself. If you are Van Life this is not good or do not have the skill requirements. Find a fridge that is a better quality (ICEC0) or one that you can at least get serviced locally or they will send out a tech. THIS UNIT WILL YANK AT YOUR VERY SOUL.

2yrs old
My 73 quart has been running 2 zones for 2 years straight now. A mixture of 12v and 120v has been used. The app works well. Fit and finish is excellent. The best part is how quiet it is!

One Month Review for ARB Zero 73 Quart
We bought the ARB chest-type fridge / freezer for use in our camper van. The ARB line came with a better reputation and a higher price tag than the Dometic. It arrived with a cracked piece of corner plastic. I expect this was done in assembly with an over-tightened screw. I have not contacted either the vendor or manufacture, but reading on the reviews, this seems fairly common and a hassle to try to get replaced. The Bluetooth link for the phone is a great plus. You have to scan a sticker to download and install the app, which allows you to setup and monitor the temperature inside the unit. It was up and running in just a few minutes after taking it out of the box. I tested the temperature with a remote temp sensor and the temperature of the bottom of the fridge and freezer were very close to the indicated temperatures on the fridge display. I set the temp to about 25F and checked to see how long it took to freeze a water bottle in the freezer section. It took more than over-night, so I set the temp to 15F and added another bottle. IT still took much longer than I expected. There is no air moving around in the compartments, so there is lower heat transfer from the botton of the freezer to your food than you get with a household freezer. This means it does take a good bit longer for items to freeze solid. If you put solid-frozen items in the freezer, you can expect them to stay frozen, but taking fresh ground beef or water in a bottle will take a long time to reach solid frozen temperatures. The fridge side works great and keeps salads, drinks, and other fresh foods fresh and cold. This unit is big! It takes up a lot of room in a van and you should account for this. We would probably have chosen a smaller solution if we had the ability to put it in the van before actualizing purchasing it. We'll have to make do, since we've already born the price. ARB does provide a metal slide that might help, but it costs more than $470!!... and requires another $36 in straps to make it work!!! If you purchase the slide and strap, you are now into this for more than $2000 for a very small fridge/freezer!!!! That's about twice the cost of a good 25 cuft side-by-side from Lowes!!!!! The slide moves along the wrong axis (long axis rather than short axis) for our use, so would be worthless for our setup. Any way you look at it, it's expensive in money and space to keep food cool in a van. A word about efficiency. The documentation says it draws about 3 Amps with the compressor running, which should be about 36w at 12v, but my battery monitor shows about 47w, or about 4 amps with the compressor running, and it runs quit a bit of the time to keep the frozen stuff frozen. So, a 100ah battery would be depleted after 24 actual hours of compressor running time. Obviously, the hotter it is in the surrounding air, the more the compressor will have to run and the shorter the battery life. On the plus side, it's dual powered, meaning it can use either 12V DC or 110v AC power. So if you have it inside your home, it can use your house power or on the road it can use your 12v battery. In an RV it can use either, so it works driving down the road on 12v and back to 110 when you plug into shore power... all without doing anything. So far, we are happy, with the exception of the size and still feeling the sting of the price, but neither of these are the fault of ARB.

reliable
I bought a big ARB fridge/freezer in 2013, and it has been running constantly since. At first we used it as a refrigerator, but mostly use it as a freezer now. It has a small section designed for dairy that doesn't freeze hard and it's enough for us. I unplug it full of food from 120V and plug it in the DC connector in the back of our Cayenne the night before I leave. We frequently drive enthusiastically back and forth between mountain and coast in California and take road trips every year - It's been across the USA and back twice, carried into motel rooms or left overnight in the back on 12V power - so it's had a good beating but stays cool no matter what. The battery-saving function works perfectly. My wife keeps it mostly at 0 to -2 F, but it will rise a little running on DC. A couple of times I've forgotten to turn it on for a day or two when I switch power plugs, but it's never thawed out above freezing. Although on 120V power it runs a lot, it isn't drawing that much power (I monitor my appliances on a solar system app). I've had to defrost it 3 times in the last 7 years, a simple procedure. It's easy to imagine that this thing was originally designed to carry cold beer into the outback and frozen kangaroo tails back. This one has already served me better than I could expect, so if it ever gets anything wrong with it, I plan to get another ARB. I just wanted to say I'm very pleased with my old blue and white ARB and if the new one is only as good, it's going to deliver years of trouble-free operation. The price has gone up and I'd still pay it but actually the old one without dual operation is plenty good enough for us.

This review is for the Zero 73 qrt dual zone unit
I have owned an ARB classic fridge since 2013 and they really upped their game with the Zero. I used to go camping often and go on road trips. I really loved how efficient these things are. They cool down fast and draw so little I run mine on 12v marine batteries for days on end. Then a few years ago I moved and now I live on top of a mountain so camping and traveling in general just seem like a downgrade so I don't do much camping anymore. Unfortunately one of the downsides to living on a mountain is frequent power outages and I have been throwing away $200-300 a year on spoiled food from power outages and I really do hate throwing out food. So I didn't get this for camping, I got this as a backup fridge for power outages. It can take days and days for it to come back on and when you live on a mountain, you're not the highest priority. After considering the various backup power options, I concluded that for my needs which is primarily about refrigeration it made the most sense just to get another portable fridge/freezer. I do have a 12v battery system and have been using the 50 quart classic but it's just not big enough. With the most recent outage after a storm, I still lost $100 in food. That ends now. Some things are familiar. The zero still makes you press a sequence of buttons to change settings. Not that big of a deal but it's not self explanatory if you haven't done it many times before. I haven't used the app yet but I can see that coming in handy. I like the independent zones. Without that you can have a fridge or a freezer but you really can't have both. If you try you end up freezing things you dont want to freeze and thawing things you dont want to thaw. I think the temperature is more accurate on the Zero. On the Classic, I had to set the adjust the differential. I used thermometers inside to be sure. You can easily ruin food by unintentionally freezing things. I think the 74 quart unit is too big for the inside of a pickup truck cabin. I did take it for an excursion into town when I went to Whole Foods about an hour away. It takes up 2/3 of the back seat. A fridge this big really needs an SUV or van. A 50 quart is a much better size for inside a pickup truck. Since this is just for power outages for me, I put it on an 18"x30" moving dolly (perfect fit) and I can conveniently move it around from the closet where it lives to the kitchen where it will be deployed in an extended power outage. There's a couple of things that I don't like about it. Unlike the classic, it doesn't have bars at the ends. Those bars make it easier to carry and tie down and they also make it easy to use an anti-theft device like a serpentine bike lock. At this price point, I would want to lock it down if I was using at a campsite and wasn't keeping an eye on it the whole time. There's only a very narrow place where you can slide a thin steel cable through but even that could be easily defeated with a pair of tin snips or an allen wrench. They really should have thought to do something where it can be easily locked down. The 74 qt size isn't too bad to carry when empty however there isn't much place to grab onto either. It's almost like they want you to drop it or have it stolen. I haven't had it for very long hopefully it stands the test of time.
