My desk hole is 3" in diameter. Will this charger fit?

This charger needs a 2 3/8" hole for a snug fit. There is a little bit of room to play with, but not much. You might be able to get away with a 2 1/2" hole, but definitely not 3".

Is this a “sleep friendly” charger? Thinking of adding one to each side of my bed.
