Smooth drinks and convenient
We’ve been using this blender for about 3+ months and it’s really great. Several times a week we use the smaller blender containers for smoothies. I pulse flaxseed in at the start and it transforms the seeds into a decently smooth powder. We also love the convenience of the cups for make-and-go breakfasts. Then, last night we had a party and made 5ish batches of margaritas in the bigger jug. They were as smooth as if they’d come from a margarita machine—no ice chunks whatsoever. I also really appreciate the simplicity of the dial, and I like the blade being built into the larger container. I think it’s easier to clean (just throw it in the dishwasher), and no assembly means no leaks. This is a great blender and powerful enough for my needs!

This is the blender I've been searching for!
UPDATE-- Five years later and it's still going strong! I make smoothies often. I've burned through two Nutri-bullets and a Ninja over the years. I LOVE THIS KITCHEN AID BLENDER! It is powerful yet quiet. It is easy to clean (I throw everything in the dishwasher--well, not the motor, obviously). It even looks nice. I've had a classic Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer for more years than I'd like to admit, so I suppose I should have bought a Kitchen Aid blender before all those Ninja and Nutri-bullet blenders. At least my search is over now. Pros: Quiet Chops ice into a nice smooth consistency Chops through fresh ginger, carrots, and everything I've thrown in there (no, I'm not making Will It Blend videos!) Multiple settings Slow start feature really works; the food does *not* fly to the top (or the ceiling if you forgot the lid) Dishwasher safe (or at least I run them through with no visible bad effects) I thought the price was right Has single-serve smoothie cups like Nutri-Bullet and Ninja, but also the large blending vessel The food pours nicely from the vessel Cons: It would be nice if the cord stored under the unit Uh....I'll update if I come up with any other cons!! Note, if you're still reading at this point: The food pusher for the meat grinding attachment for the Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer and the food pusher for this blender are exactly the same thing. That's not exactly something you need two of in your kitchen.

The Best Blender
After about eight hours of research, I bought the Kitchenaid K150. What I love about it: (1) Great capacity and physical size (makes hugh smoothies & fits nicely under cabinets). (2) Even on lowest setting, ice, frozen fruit & vegetables are blended perfectly. (3) It is self-cleaning—no mess whatsoever. (4) it has a pulse option. (5) One can make a smoothie, soup, etc. directly in one of the two included tumblers. (6) The blender is streamlined and attractive. What I don’t like about the K150: Nothing. I love everything about this product.

Unit Stopped working after 3 uses / within 7 days of purchase.
Nice unit. Really powerful and like how thoroughly spinach is blended. Love the smaller containers to blend in. After the 3rd use(within 7 days of ordering), the pulse / crush ice option stopped working. Contacted kitchenaid and they're sending a new unit. Durability: Poor Blend quality: My previous KitchenAid blender required me to remove the stems from spinach. This newer unit doesn't require preparing the ingredients when making smoothies.

Wish it blended a little more effeciently when making smoothies using frozen berries and yogurt. I have to shake it or open and stir to get the blades to blend. Expected a more seamless operation. Maybe all blenders have this issue.

Simple and easy
Simple turn knob blender without any extra buttons. Soft start feature is nice so ingredients don’t go flying around when first started. Motor makes adjustments as things blend to keep a consistent speed.
