Hardtimes Handcrafted Beef Jerky - Black Pepper Flavor - 8 oz. Jar

My husband and I both found this to be one of the best beef jerkies we have ever tried. It is smoky and well-peppered., without excessive spice. It is thin-sliced and very tender. I'm sure we'll be ordering this brand again.

I absolutely love dry beef jerky and this stuff is perfect. It's well-seasoned and has great flavor. If you're a fan of dry jerky, this is the one.

Hard Times is my number 2 Jerky, right behind Ralph's. The container holds a decent amount, but I run in to the same situation with each container. I empty the contents and sort them according to texture, thinness and consistency. There are usually only 2 or 3 pieces that I would consider High Quality. That is, they are smooth, thin, and solid. The majority of the contents, are rather flimsy, and look as if they have been put through a blender. This is not necessarily that bad, but it leads to some pieces being nothing more than shreds and long tough strands. Flavor is great, and packaging is solid. I like this jerky, and continue to purchase, mainly because of the price. But my search continues for that Liquor Store jerky that was so prolific "back in the day". Hard, dry, and super thin jerky may be a dream, but it keeps me searching.

I would like to formally thank this jerky for single-handedly destroying my self-control and my grocery budget. I bought one jar “just to try it” and now I’m out here rationing pieces like it’s post-apocalyptic currency. The black pepper flavor is ridiculously good — perfectly seasoned, super tender, and somehow gone five minutes after opening the jar every single time. At this point I don’t even ask myself *if* I’m ordering more. I just accept that Hardtimes Jerky now has a dedicated line in my monthly expenses. If you’re looking for a casual little snack, keep scrolling. If you’re prepared to develop an expensive emotional attachment to dried meat… welcome.

It's good. It's simple, cross hatch pattern for easy tearing. It's very dry. But not crumbly and stale! So you are getting actual meat for the money. Not moisture. If you do not like soft meat like jerkys like Jack links products. You like a jerky that you can pop and eat and chew for a while and taste the flavors appreciate, then you'd like this. Its a good jerky for the road. Not overly smoked. -style points because the pepper has no cling to the jerky whatsoever.

Underrated item. It's the classic jerky you're looking for. It's that dry jerky you can pull apart that's full of flavor. Recommend you lightly chew it for a few minutes while tasting the seasoning that leaches out.

Despite the bad reviews I got mine with the seal on and the jerky was fresh and delicious
