Buy This One. Here's my review of 4 different cups (ages 6-18 mo)....
First-time mom. My LO is 16 mo and we started sippy cups at 6 mo. If you're new to them, you need this cup. You ONLY need this cup. This is the review I wish I'd found a year ago... the one I was destined to write. I review 4 cups here, but I only recommend this one, at only $2.50 a pop. Features: + Leak-Proof. Drop, punt, on your carpet, on a train, with a bear... the insides ain't goin' nowhere. The only truly leakproof cup we've tried. + Mold-Free, Easy-Clean Valve. The 3 pieces (cup, lid, and valve) are easy to clean with a standard bottle brush, but especially the valve. It's mostly hard plastic. The silicon part, the actual valve, is large and nasty crud can't hide (seems this is true for very few cups, maybe only this one.) Note: packaging says not to use any cleaning tools on the valve, but I have, gently, and it's still leak-proof. + D/W Safe. Unlike others, this cup does not crack in my D/W (a low-end, 2015 Whirlpool). Note: I don't wash silicon valves in the D/W. In my experience, the heat changes its shape and it's no longer leak-proof. - Doesn't Fit Cupholders. Its bottom is too big for your stroller, carseat, high chair tray, etc. But if you & your kid can deal with that, especially at age 6-18 mo when they're still learning what arms are for and don't possess the ability to stash their own cup, this is hardly a drawback. Bottom line. Let's get real. There will be times you don't clean a dirty cup as quickly as you should. Maybe it's a crazy day, or you load it in the D/W but don't run it for a day or two. This cup will pull through nice & clean: no disgusting smell or lingering haze. Others will not. For some fun, light reading, here are the 3 cups I don't recommend. #1: Munchkin Miracle 360 Trainer Cup, Green/Blue, 7 Ounce, 2 Count ($5-6 per cup). Tried this one when LO was 6, 7 months. - Cup is leak-proof for tips, not drops. When dropped, it WILL leak and you WILL cry because you spent five bucks on it and it sounded SO GOOD and why won't it just work. +- Not Super Easy to Clean. If you let this cup go, mold you can't get out will grow in the valvet. Even when cleaned promptly, it's hard to get the suction-driven silicon lid clean enough without running it through the D/W. But then... - Not D/W Safe. After a few stints in the D/W, the silicon lid stopped guarding against leaks. Bernt. (That sound a Mac makes when you move smtg to Trash.) If it were only the drop-proof issue, I'd go back to using this cup when LO is old enough not to drop his cup so much. However, the hard-to-clean valve is a dealbreaker. #2: Munchkin Click Lock Weighted Flexi Straw Trainer Cup, Blue, 7 Ounce ($7). Purchased around LO's 1st bday: arrived at grandma's, realized we forgot his cup, and grabbed this one at Stop & Shop. - Not as Leak-Proof as You're Hoping. This cup handed out mystery drips and drops: might be liquid getting sucked up into the straw but not removed. SEVEN BUCKS?? Noooo. - Impossible To Clean. You will glare at the hazy, nasty crap clinging to the insides of the Weighted Flexi Straw and throw it out because you are afraid of giving your child diseases (true story.) I could not find a way to clean this cup to my satisfaction. This cup did help my LO learn to drink from a straw, but not any more than us at Chick-fil-A or out to dinner, holding his kid-size water cup for him. Save yourself the frustration and the $7. #3: Nuby 2-Pack Flip-It Easy Grip Cups with Easy-Flo Straw, 10 Ounce, Colors May Vary (I recently got a 2-pack for $5 at Burlington, so was feeling rather full of myself. That did not last.) - Infuriating Mystery Leaks. I haven't gotten around to buying more Gerber cups, so we're still using these at the moment, but both of them started leaving Mystery Rings of milk on whatever surface they rest (upright). Truly infuriating. Again, the liquid seems to come up the straw and out. +- Cleaning: this cup only has 3 pieces and the silicon straw is easy to clean with tools. The lid is a pain to clean (lots of surfaces and openings), but when I'm done, I feel satisfied it's truly clean. - After a few runs in the D/W, the lid and cup no longer form a tight enough screw seal to prevent leaks. Bernt. Hope this was helpful!

My kid loves them!
My kid loves these and they don't leak!! I have found in the toddler era of life that if the cup can possibly leak, they will find out how to pour the water out. This cup is great and he can lay down and drink it as well. My only gripe is I thought I was getting a blue and green cup, but we received a blue and purple set instead. Not a huge deal and my kid really doesn't care at the end of the day. Definitely worth the price!

Perfect middle ground of sippy cups
I bought these in a pinch but soon wished we had more of these. These Gerber Graduates cups are in the perfect middle ground between high quality and disposable. I've bought some cheap semi-disposable ones where I didn't care if they got lost. Unfortunately those often felt like they were more trouble than they were worth. These work well and are cheap enough that I wouldn't be too upset if I lost one. I think of them as the chromebooks of sippy cups! When we first got these I thought the plastic felt a little thin and wasn't sure how long they were going to last. A couple months later and they're my favorites of his cups. Pro: * Easy to clean * Thin middle make them easy for toddlers to hold * Lid goes on easy (unlike some very cheap ones we've bought) * Totally spill proof * Very affordable (under 10 bucks is a good price for 2) Con: * A little big/awkward size may not always fit in car cup holder or in stroller cup holders. * They don't stack well so if you buy several they will take up a lot of space quickly. * Colors are not as exciting as other sippy cups with cartoon characters so your kid might choose different cups. Photos: 1) Shows what the bottom of the lids look like. 2) "Seal Zone" marked for when you tighten the lid.

Looks just like Mommy's water bottle & now she'll drink!
My daughter had a ridiculously hard time leaving the bottle, well over 12 months old. After 6 different types of sippy cups, this is finally the one that she'll use. I think it's mostly because she wants to do everything like Mommy and this sippy cup looks similar to my Rubbermaid 7R07 Hydration Beverage Bottle, 30-Ounce, Chug, Colors May Vary . Now, we drink side by side! Also, there are some good plusses with this one. The hard spout lets her bite down & gnaw on it without worrying that the silicone will fail & she'll bite off a piece of it & choke. The spill-proof mechanism is very easy to clean and mostly hard plastic, not silicone! I'm not worried about mold collecting with this cup. The whole cup is easy to clean, as long as you have a bottle brush to get into the flared sides at the bottom. There are also spare spill-proof mechanisms available on Amazon, if we should ever need them. The 10 oz capacity is great, since my daughter is a water chugger at night & barely drinks during the day. The cup can easily be used without the spill-proof mechanism, once she's ready to regulate the flow herself. The downsides are minor. The bottom is too wide to fit correctly in the cup hole on my Fisher-Price Spacesaver High Chair, Luminosity , but it sort of fits by resting on top of the cup hole, if placed just right. It actually helps her learn to balance things. Also, there are no measurement markings on the cup. Also, this is not a complaint, just info for frugal folks like me. I took my chances with the "colors may vary" option on two different orders. Each time I received the following combination: orange & green cups with blue & lime green lids. My daughter doesn't mind & neither do I.

Dang good!
I have bought plenty of sippy cups and bottles in the last few years. My daughter is 18 months old and can truly put these to the test! I'll start out first by saying sippy cups that don't leak at all are far and few in between. Nothing worse than getting a leaky one, talk about the mess alone. My daughter has used these for close to 6 months and they both still function as the day I got them. They don't leak and seal very good. They are easy to hold for her and can hold enough liquid to hold her over for a bit. Her drinks usually get warm before she can make it through the whole thing and in my book that's a good thing. My only issue with this is the base is a little wider than most which makes it incompatible with my Graco car seat. She usually ends up knocking it into the floor because she has to sit it between her legs or next to her. I usually have to switch out to a different cup for road trips which isn't ideal but it does the job. These are very easy to clean and I don't feel like I miss anything when doing so. I know other cups have issues from time to time for areas of the sippy cup to be hard to reach with cleaning tools and can lead to not so nice things growing and being present inside your child's cup. Overall I really like this and if it was compatible with my car seat you bet I'd buy more of these!

Finally a Truly Leak-Proof Cup!
This is the only sippy cup I trust to leave in my toddlers' beds overnight — no leaks, no drips, just water when they want it. I’ve tried so many other brands that ended up leaking all over the sheets, but this one actually holds up. It’s easy for little hands to grip, and super durable. The only downside is it doesn’t fit in most cup holders, which can be a bit annoying. Also, it can leak if it's thrown really hard and the little plastic piece inside pops out — but otherwise, it’s solid. This is the only cup I buy now!

Two thumbs up
Easy to use. No leaks. No straws or the big rubber thing inside that has to be constantly washed and scrubbed. Just one little rubber/ insert in cap.. easy peasy. Strong cup easy to clean. I like them.

Siguen siendo geniales!!
