McGraw-Hill's Complete Medical Spanish
This book has been an amazing resource for me. I already had a very good knowledge of conversational Spanish, but this book reviewed that, as well. I believe that this book was particularly helpful because I already had some knowledge of Spanish; however, in my opinion this book would have been indispensible to me regardless. Its coverage of Medical Spanish is very thorough and helpful. Not only does it give tons of vocabulary, but it also gives helpful patient/healthcare provider dialogue in many different scenarios from asking about symptoms and taking vitals to actual exams in many different specialties. I used this book as my only resource to study for a medial Spanish test, and I feel that I am very prepared. I will also be holding on to this book for future reference. It is THAT helpful! I am so glad that I chose this particular book. Enjoy!

Medical Spanish
I like the format, learning a good working vocabulary and practical use in conversation. This greatly improved my ability to complete history taking and I really like the additional cultural notes.

doesn't get much better!
awesome! can't get any better! I work in a clinic and I have a lot of pacientes who solamente hablar es spanol. this book has helped me not only communicate with patients and get vital and necessary information but help build trusting relationships with my patients!:)There was so many things I was unable to communicate to my patients before, that now I am able to do with out getting an interpreter. Very impressed with the amount of knowledge I have gained from this book. A+!

Indeed, a better one.
I like this book because it'll really give you an idea how spanish language is constructed plus the exercises after each topic which appears to be too elementary but very helpful, indeed. Good price for a sensible book. If you're a beginner in the heathcare world, this is it! Eureka!

Practical but Disjointed
It's pretty good for starting up. I had no background in spanish beyond the average american who learned a few words in grades 2-4, although I do have an extensive background in french. The grammar's similar enough to cue me in on the fact that they don't explain things you're using or could be using to thoroughly and comfortably use the language or even understand much of it. Sombrero is a pertinent medical term as well, apparently. Large chunks of it are very useful, others not so much. Use it for a course, but beyond that it doesn't teach the language in a logical progression of grammar functionality.

Solid medical dictionary
This is a solid medical dictionary that even has sections about folk and herbal remedies and cultural recommendations for folks from various backgrounds in the Spanish-speaking world. I highly recommend it, espcially as a companion to other online, disc-based or live Spanish instruction. The sections are well organized by medical discipline or symptoms and covers terms the medical or helping professional is most likely to run across.

Great book. As an EMT that occasionally needs to use Spanish, I love this book. I study Spanish independently quite a bit, but this book helps a lot, particularly with my job providing medical care.
