Can it rip and copy blu rays?

The player will play the data that is on the disc. The ripping and recording is done by the software that you are using. If your disc is a purchased movie then it's likely to be protected so aside from licence issues you would need software that overcomes this. That will be the same for any brand of DVD or Blu-ray player.

Does this work for bluray and dvds and audio cd? rewrite etc? just some home projects and some friends have bluray and others only dvd. but want rw

I bought this to play Blu-ray but I don't know about RW etc. I would guess it is all singing and dancing for cd and dvd .

Can i backup my collection of blu-rays and dvd's, just by using imgburn, makemkv or dvd decrypter with the hitachi-lg bp55

My Windows 10 computer just displays a BluRay disk as Drive E and I can copy files using file explorer or, more regularly, using the excellent free Syncback program as part of my backup routine.

Can this drive read audio cds

I use the Hitachi-LG BP55 External Blu-Ray Drive as a storage device (part of my backup system) and treat it like a flash drive. You could store the files of audio CDs on it, just like any other file. but you would need appropriate software to play the files.
