Is this the same as koshihikari or is 'koshi-rice' something different?

I believe it isn't koshihikari, I feel like they would advertise more if it was, I did a bit of research because I was interested too. I couldn't really find much info on this rice. I believe the Koshi could comes from 越, this can mean Vietnam (full kanji 越南, Etsunan, although I believe this is an obsolete way of saying it and usually Vietnam is just in katakana, ベトナム, betonamu). This kanji, 越 possibly referring to Vietnam, can also be pronounced koshi, and as this rice is grown in Vietnam (with Japanese seeds) it seems too close to be coincidental. It would be nice if they wrote the rice strain on the packet. Saying that, I could be totally wrong, either way this rice is very tasty and makes good sushi.

Can I make Teokbokki with this rice?

It is Japanese short-grain rice selected specifically for shusi. so I would imagine it would do what you suggest

Can i use this rice in a japanese curry?

Regardless of what it is packaged as it a premium grade short grain rice and can be used for any form of cookery requiring short grain rice even rice pudding.

Can I use it for sticky rice Thai style?
