I hummed and hawed between these and Microlab's B77 speakers because whilst the Microlabs probably shade the Edifiers on quality of sound, the Edifiers are a bit smaller and around £20 cheaper. In the end, their size won out because I have limited space. It's also nice that they allow for two inputs, which is exactly what I wanted - one from a TV and the other from my PC. You can play both sources simultaneously if you wish, not that I have any need for that.They replace a pair of bog standard rather plasticky speakers I've had for a long time, and they're MUCH better sounding. I myself don't like very heavy bass and so have set it at minimum. Even so, it's tight and punchy, more than adequate for my rather small room. I have the treble set at near maximum because that happens to suit me -- maybe because I'm no spring chicken. But the good thing is that even at maximum, the treble doesn't become at all tinny.I also like that they sound good on their side, with the tweeters on the outside left and right, as this creates more clearance above them on the shelf where I have to put them. In fact, I find they sound better that way in my set up than they do upright. There's good separation between instrumental sounds: bass, midrange and treble don't sound muddled. The bass actually plays tunes well, even when there are several going on at the same time, and I can still effortlessly pick out midrange and treble registers.These speakers certainly get your foot tapping, even though they're not strictly hi-fi. They sound amazingly good for the price and their size. I also find that the grills don't seem to alter the sound much, which is good because I'm always worried about the long-term effect of sunlight on the drivers -- with one set of hi-fi speakers I once had, after a few years the driver surrounds practically rotted away because I never used the grills.Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase and think that these speakers provide a lot of bang for one's buck. Maybe the Microlabs would have been just that bit better, but like I said, it was all a question of size and to a somewhat lesser extent, price. There's a direct comparison of the two on YouTube if you can't decide yourself -- pretty much everyone seems to be agreed that the choice is between the two. If you have the space and the extra £20, maybe the Microlabs would suit you better, but I doubt you'd be disappointed with the Edifiers.Edit: now I've had them a bit longer, I want to say something else. I don't know why it is, but with these speakers, for the first time I'm HEARING words to songs I never really paid much attention to in the past, always having been someone attracted to tunes more than words. This has formerly been the case, even with true hi-fi speakers. But now, quite without any effort to listen, the words are registering with me, and this is significantly enhancing my audio experience. It's quite uncanny, and I have no idea why it should be so. It's as if they have a weird ability to cause me to HEAR rather than actively try to LISTEN, which I've always had to do in the past. No other speakers have ever achieved this, and it makes them, for me, all the more special.

I finally did it! After numerous false starts and some encounters with some truly awful speakers, I arrived at the Edifier R1280T powered speakers. And I'm glad I did. But I *MUST* credit the Customer Reviews - they calmed and reassured me that I was making a good purchase.Let's start at the beginning. I have a set up where the SmartTV creates the "front" sound, and powered speakers at the back. So the sound from a good Blu-ray or UHD film on Amazon Prime sounds incredible - even though it's only 2.0 through four speakers. The back ones do more than just films though. They are connected to my (recently purchased) Majority Fitzwilliam sound system, and I can mix the sound to my liking - especially when playing Fallout 4 on the PlayStation. You NEED a good soundtrack for that!I've been using a pair of Creative T40 speakers that I purchased from Amazon about fifteen years ago - and I got a good deal at the time! They performed superbly, and they owe me nothing after a decade and a half of faultless performance; but after investing my Chrimbo Amazon vouchers in the Fitz, it was time to get a set that not only were more powerful - the T40s unbelievably were a mere 20W, whilst the R1280Ts are rated 42W - but also contain modern technology, they're sleeker and look nice on a shelf, and (hopefully) would produce better quality sound. It honestly was a proper annoyance trying to find speakers that didn't have the equivalent of a bit of string connecting them together - such are the joys of the sub £200 audiophile searches!Thus I ordered the speakers and five metres of jolly good cable to connect R to L. It was worth it! I tried it out (although it was quite late at night, so the volume couldn't go very high!) with "Journey of The Sorcerer" by The Eagles via Spotify, specifically because there are high treble notes and booming bass.Incredible sound! I was immediately hit with this beautifully clean audio. There was no hiss, no distortion, no "holding back". The treble and bass don't interfere with each other, and the clarity is mind blowing. I know it's the first night and everything, but after the test, I let the SmartTV sound play, and my wife's gaming sounded better than ever.In conclusion, if you're looking for quality audio on a tight budget, then a set of Edifier R1280Ts will deliver quality sound without having to smash too many piggy banks!NB: I always think of "the supplied cables" as a "Starter Pack" - just to test the equipment. If you can, replace them with quality cabling as soon as you can. You WILL notice the difference. Check out my review of the speaker cable I used to replace the nasty one that came with the speakers, and definitely upgrade to something like that.

You will be hard pressed to find a better amplified speaker at this price, and build quality; I am a retired electronics engineer having worked with audio and radio frequency equipment in commercial and broadcast companies, so I think I recognise a good product in todays world for the domestic market.The sound quality is very good with a range to cover most of the HI-Fi audio band, you have the option to adjust tonal levels as well, and get two inputs... one AUX line in & one PC computer line in; each have different level signals input, and the only thing to consider is how your going to use it ! Basically the AUX line in, is for a Line level output signal around 550mV = millivolts peak to peak just over half a volt, this means you need a pre-amp if your going to use it for a record-phono reproduction, and with the pre-amp you also need the required RIAA equalisation for records; normally in the designed for record pre-amps will have the RIAA as standard design.Okay then, other options is a mixer control, either two or more inputs as required; then the output to the amplifier AUX input... by using an amplified mixer with line inputs, your going to have a good 45dB signal increase, especially if a microphone input is on the mixer as well; of course you can just use the amplifier to plug-in your I-Pad or mobile music device ? so using the earphone output socket, you will have more than enough signal to drive the amplifier; this would be the same if you use the PC computer output, into the PC socket.So if you think about it, you have options to make that connection if you remember the amplifier needs a Line Input Signal; also bear in mind, the PC and AUX inputs are live at the same time, so you either turn off one of the two devices your using at any time, otherwise you will have two music or audio signals mixing at the same time; there is also the basic remote control, this has a very good range even when you don't point it at the master speaker... however for the quality of this speaker system and price, it's a very good compromise.One negative ? If your thinking of using it for a shortwave radio system monitor speaker, to improve the sound quality; I would warn you not too, the unfortunate fact is that this amplifier has an internal "Switched - mode - Power - Supply" my personal worst enemy when it comes to radio interference... even if you think moving it away from the receiver will resolve this issue, it will-not ! The reason is, that the switching pulses are riding on the screened audio input cables, even a ferrite core or choke will-not stop the interference… so your warned.However you can try an isolator 1 to 1 transformer, I did-not take this option; so if like myself your an electronics engineer or good hobbyist, with experience of electronics; you just remove the offending power supply and build a Linear - Transformer power supply ? you need to have a 17 Volt regulated DC at 1 Amp current capacity; each audio channel at peak max volume can top 500mA, so a 1 amp supply will cover the power required. Just in case your wondering why the power consumption is low, it's because the power amplifiers are in a bridged configuration, and provide a good audio power drive at low current... good luck and enjoy your purchase.

These are good quality and nice to look at. Most importantly, the sound is clear and very listenable. Many loudspeakers are fatiguing, due to a poor design, poor frequency curve, rubbish ports, cheap materials, but these loudspeakers have a superb sound. You get two phono inputs and volume, bass and treble controls.And being not British, all the cables are included to get you going. (I use more hifi-level cables.)I appreciate everything is built to a price, but suggested improvements could be:>the mains lead is captive - a figure of eight socket would be great;>the two sockets (red & black) for the wire to the right loudspeaker, and the two sockets on the right loudspeaker are the 'hole&clamp' type. The hole is quite small and not very deep. Would much prefer banana sockets at both ends.>the remote control could put the loudspeakers into standby (the switch is at the back of the left loudspeaker).But these minor points are totally forgiven, because of the really great sound!Highly recommended.

I own a Lenco record player and it only has a dual RCA output audio cable to connect to speakers and nothing else, so I’ve been looking for speakers with a dual RCA line in port which are also fairly cheaper.I typed in “Speakers Dual RCA line in” as I honestly wasn’t completely sure what I was looking for, these Edifier Speakers were the first option that appeared and at £89.99, which compared to the price of speakers in my city’s electrical stores, was quite cheap.After looking at the mainly positive reviews I decided to get them.For what I was looking for, these speakers are great, I find the sound quality excellent and the design is also quite sleek and simple and not too complicated, the size of the speakers are fairly compact also.The remote control is fairly simple and sturdy with just a mute button and the volume control.The set up was extremely easy, i presumed that the speakers came connected already, so I panicked a little when I seen that they weren’t and I had to connect them myself with the speaker connecting cable, as I’m not the most handy person and thought this was going to be complicated but it was extremely simple and very well explained in the manual.I’m not overly sure about the durability as I’ve only had them for a couple of days, but they seem extremely solid and sturdy enough so far.Overall, if you’re looking for a decent, quite simple and minimalistic set of speakers, I’d highly recommend these.

Very, very happy with my purchase. I've not owned a pair of speakers for many years as I mostly listen to music through my Bose QT35 headphones on the move and an old ipod dock with a Chrome Cast Audio at home. I have seriously been missing out. If these speakers are 'entry level' then I can't imagine what a pair twice or three or four times the price would sound like. For me, these hooked up to my iMac are incredible. A very balanced sound. Bass does seem to be a bit squelchy when louder but it really doesn't bother me. Also my wife just told me off because the bass could be heard the other side of the house so it was probably too high anyway ;-). I use Boom on my mac and it really helps with equalisation. I'll mostly be using these for music at my desk when working and for monitoring sound when video editing and they seem more than capable of everything I need. I've used self adhesive velcro and put the remote on my iMac at the bottom right so I can adjust the volume or mute quickly without having to adjust my main mac volume.You won't be disappointed with these as the price to quality ratio seems unbalanced. The price seems too low for this quality! They look amazing too. Lovely retro vibes.In the way of negatives (but these are really if I am to nit pick):• The power switch is on the back which is a bit annoying to have to 'reach around' :-o to turn off, not a biggie for me as I have clear space but if you plan to put in a book shelf then might be an issue.• The 3.5mm jack crackled when I knocked it putting SD cards in or inserting/removing USB cables. I resolved this by using a short, flexible extender, now it doesn't crackle at all.Overall, I'm so happy with these and I can now hear really subtle nuance in my music that I just didn't hear before. It's like night and day.

Each speaker has a very good weight to it and feels solid in the hand. I'm not an audio expert by any means, but going from £20 speakers to these was well worth the extra money and I am thoroughly pleased with my purchase.Visually, the speakers look great. They are quite big so if you have a small desk these might not be for you. They were easy to set up: you plug them in, plug a cable into a clamp in the back of each speaker and then plug in the audio jack into whatever you wish. I use these speakers mostly for listening to music and gaming on my computer, but I have also found they can work with PlayStations if you plug the speakers into your controller. The most important factor when it comes to speakers is how they sound- and these sound great especially for such a reasonable price. Crisp clear audio out of the box with additional knobs to tweak treble, bass and volume.

I was scared to order this as another review stated that it arrived damage however it turned out perfectly fine and is one of the best speakers I've used.this seems to be an improved model from ones I've seen online as the remote has more functionality and instead of PC and AUX it's split into line 1 and line 2.Sound quality is phenomenal with bass and treble adjustment to personalize it to what you like. It can go really loud and works great with my AT-LP60X.Build quality is absolutely phenomenal as it feels premium despite it's low price. I would say this speaker is worth it.

Le son en mouvement !Dans cette gamme de prix , la présence , les volumes de tous les instruments , les amplitudes , les voix , les cuivres , les cordes .Mais qu'est ce qui peut bien nous séduire dans le son délivré par ces enceintes ?Eh Bien , les courbes et les lignes , la dynamique du son , les impulsions .Pour un musicien , il y a très souvent les arguments tels que la définition du son , sa clarté , les présences des basses , des aigus et médiums .Mais ici , ce qui frappe le plus : C'est le modelé général , et les volumes !Oui , franchement , plus qu'un son homogène , ou simplement dynamique , ou bien défini , c'est l'ensembledes éléments de l'enveloppe sonore de chaque instrument qui flatte l'ouïe et révèle le travail très "visuel" effectué par les concepteurs . car nous pouvons parler du son tout comme il d'un vin . Il séduit ou bien ne séduit pas , ou moins , disons .Alors pour le prix : Je dirais que le son n'est réellement comparable , au regard du volume délivré et du nombre de watts , 2x21 watts , qu'a des marques grandement apprécié dans les années 80 ou bien 90 ...Ici , rien que je puisse comparer avec du son multimédia issus d'enceintes , dites multimédias .Et nous pensons à mettre en paralèle ce son , avec des marques de prestigieuses , tels "Davis" ou "Cabasse" ou encore JBL .Mais ici , le tarif est très très compétitifs . La plus grande qualité que nos puissions probablement trouver à des enceintes est de séduire au delà de toutes nos attentes . à chaque fois que j'écoute dans la petite pièce principale ,mes chères musiques , ces enceintes me donne un grand bonheur . Et j'ai l'impression à chaque fois de les écouter ,comme si le groupe , ou l'orchestre se trouvait dans la pièce .Exceptionnelles et surprenantes , pour un tarif , en deça de 100€ . Die Lautsprecher sind besser als Erwartet, was man sagen muss sie sind sehr kompakt Perfekt für den Schreibtisch. Die Verarbeitung ist auch sehr gut da gibt es nichts zu meckern. Anfangs war der Klang eher ernüchtern, aber als ich sie dann ca. 2-3 Stunden in Betrieb hatte. Kam der Klang viel Voluminöser rüber als anfangs. Ich muss sagen die Lautsprecher haben einen Satten Klang für ihre Größe. Man merkt schon das es kein 3 sondern "nur" ein 2 Wege System ist, aber dazu ein Sehr gutes. Ich lade noch paar Bilder hoch größenvergleich zu meinem Surface 3.Also im Großen und ganzen kann ich die Edifier Studio sehr empfehlen. Für die 90€ bekommt man hier einen viel besseren Klang als bei den meisten 2.1 Subwoofer Systemen. Der Sound ist klar, satt und verzerrt nicht was will man mehr ??Wieso ich dann nur 4 Sterne gebe? Der Lautstärke Regler/Rad muss man sehr lange drehen anfangs passiert kaum was. Sprich man dreht und dreht und dreht und dann irgendwann wird es ganz Laut. Und die Fernbedienung werde ich glaub auch nicht oft benutzen. Da sie genau so träge auf eingaben Reagiert aber wie gesagt für 90€ so eine Verarbeitung und so ein Klang aus so kleinen Boxen, ist schon mal sehr gut.------------------------------Update 01.07.2016Ich Steuer meine Boxen jetzt über meine Tastatur. Und der Klang wird von Tag zu Tag besser !!! Deswegen von 4 auf 5 Sterne :P !Update 14.01.2017Ich bin immer noch voll und ganz zufrieden mit den Lautsprechern. Ich habe vor mir für den PC das 2.1 Soundsystem von Edifier zuzulegen. Daher habe ich mal Probeweise die Lautsprecher in der Küche und im Bad aufgestellt. Und ich kann nur so was aber natürlich klar ist, in kleineren Räumen gehen die kleinen richtig ab. Wer also ein Zimmer hat zur Beschallung der sollte mit den Lautsprechern richtig glücklich werden.Update 31.12.2017Mir war auf Dauer der Bass zu schwach, er hat nicht nachgelassen oder irgendwas in der Hinsicht. Aber bei manchen Spielen oder Filmen die man am Rechner anschaut fehlt einfach etwas wumst!Tipp für die denen der Bass auch auf dauer zu Schwach ist. Ich habe einfach einen alten Canton Subwoofer angeschlossen. Es muss natürlich ein Aktiv Subwoofer sein mit Low Level Anschlüssen, ich füge ein Bild hinzu. Man greift einfach das Ton Signal von den Boxen ab und fertig, da der Subwoofer ein Aktiven Verstärker verbaut hat braucht er ja keinen externen Receiver oder sowas in der Art.Viele würden sagen schick sie doch einfach zurück und kauf dir ein 2.1 System. Ja könnte man machen aber wenn man schon so wie es bei mir war einen älteren Aktiven Subwoofer rumstehen hat, wieso nicht? Bin zufrieden mit der Kombination und dazu noch Geld gespart :) !!!

Premetto di non essere un audiofilo e nemmeno un esperto del suono ma un semplice grafico, videomaker ed amante della buona musica alla ricerca di un buon upgrade.Mi sono ritrovato con la necessità di aumentare la qualità audio del mio pc ed ho iniziato a spulciare le recensioni online dei migliori setup sotto i 100 euro.Dopo alcuni giorni di ricerche ho deciso di puntare su questo 2.0.Risultato a dir poco entusiasmante.Collegate le casse ad una scheda audio PciE di buona qualità, sostituiti i cablaggi tra i due speaker ed il cavo di collegamento tra questi ed il pc, la resa sonora è incredibile.Vengo da un altro 2.0 della Hercules e trovo tutto un altro mondo.Suono definito, distorsione inesistente anche a volumi alti, alti limpidissimi, medi presenti, bassi ottimi (a patto di equalizzare correttamente il tutto).Esteticamente splendide, fanno decisamente un figurone su qualunque scrivania, basta avere un po' di spazio disponibile.Necessitano ovviamente, come tutte gli speaker di questo tipo, di un po' di rodaggio, ma il risultato è veramente validoSenza dubbio configurazioni da centinaia di euro danno risultati ancora migliori ma per chi come me non ha necessità da studio, questi speaker sicuramente saranno un'ottima scelta.Ho provato diversi generi, tutti in formato flac e la resa è sempre stata ottima. Si colgono sfumature che prima non esistevano nemmeno, pur avendo un paio di casse pagate circa lo stesso prezzo.Il telecomando è comodo, molto carino esteticamente (forse un filino cheap), a mio avviso non particolarmente utile, tenendo le casse sempre a poco meno del massimo e gestendo i volumi direttamente dalla sorgente.I materiali sono ottimi, così come l'imballaggio, l'unica cosa che davvero andrebbe cambiata (come già detto precedentemente) è il cablaggio in dotazione, decisamente di qualità scarsa.Da notare la differenza di resa con e senza la copertura degli altoparlanti, a seconda delle vostre necessità e del vostro orecchio, una impostazione o l'altra potrebbe farvi più comodo.Soddisfatto al 100%, consigliatissime.
