Excellent tool, love mine!
My old pair ( the larger one) broke after years of service and I was so happy to find this set. I keep them in my junk drawer- they’re my go- to for all kinds of little jobs needing a pliers. The fact that there are two noses, one more flat, one more pointed, make this a great little tool that doesn’t require a trip to the garage to be intimidated by hubby’s ten thousand tools. I haven’t used the smaller one yet but I bet it will be just as handy.

LOVE THIS TOOL!
This tool manufacturer is going out of business and changing it's lineup. My dad had one of these from about 15+ years ago and it somehow ended up in my possession and survived through 4 moves and two rounds of homeownership. We went out to a range together and my dad and brother saw it in our tool basket and lost their minds over the fact it survived and had been with me the whole time as they loved the tool and it had become a household family staple for tasks. Needless to say - I ordered 3 sets - a new one for my dad, brother and my husband. We only had the larger of the two in the set and they LOVED it as a Christmas gift and are already texting me saying they are using the heck out of the tools. Seriously - one lasted 15 years or more and looks in terrific condition despite regular use and abuse. I have no doubt the sets I bought will also last 15-30 years and provide the reliability and versatility our family of do it yourself, home improvement junkies will need.

A nice set wire strippers/cutters/crimpers in a small tool.
I have a set of wire Strippers I bought at Radio Shack years ago. I tried to buy a couple spare units a little while back only to discover they were discontinued. I really liked them so I asked about them in a subreddit dedicated to RS products and someone pointed these out. These are the almost the exact same as the RS brand of ones I’ve had for ages but with a couple extra crimper points. They are very nice and convenient. Very good cutting blades and the wire striping side of the tool is well made and works without fail. These are not at all chincy or cheap feeling. They are just great. Most recently I used them to cut, strip, and then crimp terminal ends onto speaker wires for my stereo. A good item to have in your tool kit. Buy more than one, one in the workbench, one in the traveling work bag, and one to give your friend who keeps borrowing your tools. The way the cutting and crimping blades are switched between by flipping the handles around is kinda fun too, you can do it in a fluid movement like flipping out a switchblade. Imma gonna cut yer wires, man.

Great set of wiring pliers, if you treat them right.
These are great every day wiring pliers. For reference, every pair of these I've owned has been red and black, rather than the blue in the picture. I find the pairs I own much more attractive than those in the picture, though, so I think this is a surprise bonus. The build quality of these pliers is the reason I give them only four stars. They work perfectly, so long as you don't treat them roughly or overuse them. Over frequent use, however, I've broken a set of these pliers by dulling the cutters, and I've also had the lock break on another set of them. The kitschy little tab that locks the pliers into place when you're not using them is very delicate and easy to break, it simply bends up and suddenly the pliers are annoying to put in your pocket or store away closed. If you plan to subject these pliers to heavy or rough use, I'd recommend paying more, or storing them in a holster/precision toolbelt.

Have several
The wrench and needle nose pliers on same structure is a real nice feature as we have limited space for too many tools: This gives us four possibilities in two devices. For our RV and kitchen go-to drawer, we have four total with two at each location. THIS package is a bargain compared to just buying the larger plier, so the dykes come in real handy. Each -- at least on these newer models -- will lock closed when a locking pin is engaged. High quality in material and construction of hinge -- no side play.

Nice general use tool!
Nice general use plyer (both sides). But for some tough jobs like trying to loosen a screw that's partially up, it seems like the plyers can't really grip. Probably the wrong tool for that job (after as reverse tap did its work), but then again standard plyers seems to work better in that case since the reverse tap only partially worked. Still I find this a nice general use 'go to' tool, and it reverses very quickly.

Small Pliers Defective
The larger pair of pliers are fine. The smaller pliers are not. The smaller pliers are supposed to be needle nose pliers and wire cutters. The needle nose pliers are OK. The wire cutters are worthless. The cutter jaws do not close completely and will not cut wires or cable ties but will only crimp them a bit. I bought two sets and both are the same. I called Allied's customer service number. I was told that they were supposed to be that way and that I could return them and they would replace them with ones just like them. I could also return them to Amazon for a refund. I like the larger pliers and the needle nose pliers on the smaller set are OK so I decided to keep them. I gave them a 3 star rating for the for this reason. If I was rating the smaller pliers it would probably be a 0 rating.

15+ YEARS and still going!
I bought a pair of these in a grocery store tool isle on a whim because of the switch gimmick over 15 years ago. The past 10 years they have been in my toolbag as a maintenance man and used almost daily! The clasp broke years ago but everything else is as new. Incredible useful. I use the gripping end more than the needle nose but when dealing with an outlet having wire stripper and a needle nose to pull/push wires in the box is great. Highly recommend. As some of my tools of many years have not been available at the local box store I researched these and found them here. I ordered the combo pack and look forward to testing the wire cutter mini one.

I used a set of flip pliers just like these for everything for many years. Electrical work and atv and sled repair. The spring in my old set broke. I was upset becaue the local hardware store that sold them closed. Then I found this set. They are identical. These have better hand grips plus this came in a set of two, which included a mini pair or cutters. Highly recommend owning a pair of pliers like these. I use mine a lot.

i use them all the time for various jobs and they still holds up, good products overall
