FurReal Friends StarLily, My Magical Unicorn (Amazon Certified Packaging)

***UPDATED AND EDITED- MY TODDLER HAS NOW OPENED AND PLAYED WITH STARLILY*** (NOTE: This is my daughters first FUR REAL PET.) Im a HUGE believer in the quote, "Your face says it all" and boy oh boy did my daughters face SAY IT ALL!! :D She LOVES LOVES StarLily! (i've updated with a picture of my daughter playing with her new favorite toy) Let me start by saying, Lily is amazing. She has an App that you download for free onto your phones or tablets and then connects with it in real time while your child plays with the app! Your child will work their way through the puzzles and games to collect "sugar berries" and other toys that the enchanted land will be decorated with, and the only way to collect these treasures is by playing through different mini=games WITH StarLily. One of the mini-games is your child feeding berries to StarLily by "throwing the berry" TO the UNICORN. StarLily catches them and her horn will light up as well as she stomps her hooves in delight! I normally don't follow through with edits on amazon, since I'm a busy mom of two toddlers. However, This toy really is AWESOME! I could gush about it all night after seeing my daughters face and excitement! (although the tantrum when bedtime came and her finding out Lily won't be sleeping with her was less than stellar..) LOL. This was such a great buy. My only negative is that StarLily doesn't walk. If she walked I would be the first to spam my social media with the how fantastic Hasbro has done this year. Don't let that sway you from purchasing this though, your child will love it regardless.

Our daughter had this on the top of her Christmas list. We were hesitant because of the price, and we were worried it would become a prop rather a toy. Turns out, we were right. Poor starlily has been played with rarely since she was opened, but she does get tucked in every night. Our daughter was super excited when she opened this and played with her for several days, but I guess the fun of it wore off? She is very beautiful and well made. I love her big eyes and long lashes as well as her pretty wings that flap. My daughters favorite part is her unicorn horn that lights up. I'm not sure why she got bored with it... Maybe she's too hard to cuddle? Or that she doesn't walk? Or maybe she's too young for it? (she's 5) This was our first furreal pet purchase so we didn't really know what to expect. There is zero wrong with the product. I guess it just happens to be one of those toys that gets pushed to the back. Knowing what we know now we wouldn't have purchased her. But that is only because she doesn't get played with much. The unicorn itself, works well and is beautiful.

My 5 year old daughter loves this toy (e.g. very cute design and the sounds that it makes are adorable). However, the mechanics are flawed and are no longer working correctly after 1 week (e.g. motors are clicking, major delays when caressing the back, etc.)

The one thing my daughter wanted for Christmas was StarLily. She has so many FurReal friends that she rarely plays with so I was hesitant to spend $100 on a new one that would just retire to the shelf after a day. But I went ahead and got it with very low expectations. However this is a really, really cute toy. I could see after my daughter playing with it for just a few minutes why it's a little higher priced than other FurReal friends. Her legs, eyes and head move around and she responds to your voice. Her wings also flutter and that cute unicorn horn lights up a rainbow of different colors. I will recommend that you download the free app that goes along with StarLily, it just makes playing with her so much better. You child is able to play games that involve StarLily and make her respond and do things based on her response. So far after a week my daughter is still playing with StarLily and I think she will continue to because StarLily does different things each time. My recommendation: Great toy for Girls ages 5-9

My 4 year old loved this for about a month and now visits it randomly. She still enjoys the noises and feeding her. It is a big and sturdy toy for the price but for the price I wish she spoke or walked or something. My daughter isn't at all disappointed but she does not play with her more than a few minutes a week after the new has worn off.

StarLilly is adorable. My 4yr old loves her. The app doesn't seem to interst my daughter or do much in the way of interacting with the horse. My daughter loves brushing her hair and feeding her the sugar berry it comes with. My daughter sings to the horse and the horse sings back. My daughter takes riding lessons and shows in leadline. She pretends she cleaning star Lilly's hooves and grooming her. She's just enthralled. Also I love that the horse will begin to yawn when not played with and will quickly go to sleep. She can be woken up by putting your finger in the horses mouth.

My wife and I bought this for my daughter this past Christmas. The main reason why we purchased this item was my daughter asked Santa for her "magical unicorn" and I was guilted into buying it. After blowing nearly a $100 on this, I was at least happy to see my daughter excited about it on Christmas Day. That excitement, however, was short-lived. It very quickly turned into an expensive decorative fixture for my daughter's closet. For one, as a parent, this is one of the most annoying toys to listen too. If you are the type of parent that easily gets annoyed at some of the sounds their kid's toys make (I am not one of those people though, I actually work around children all day long, so take that into account when reading this), wait until you hear StarLily's giggle. Second, for an interactive toy, it is not very interactive. Whether you are feeding it a strawberry or petting it, you get the same annoying response and giggle. I thought there was going to be more movement with this toy because the pictures I saw online had it in multiple positions, but all it really dose is move its front foot up and down and twist its head. Lastly, the storage size for the program for the smartphone is so ridiculously huge (nearly 200 MB) that I ended up deleting it to make space for kids programs that were more useful.
