I am very happy with these thermostats. I am using them to control Vivosun heat mats.. The combination works flawlessly. The temperature control is acceptable and with the controller, very adjustable. They do not heat quickly. For me, that is ideal. They do not draw a lot of power while warming, and seem to not take much electricity to maintain the temperature once it reaches the setpoint. That is excellent. I have used Vivosun heat mats and thermostats in the past and expected them to still be high quality. That is exactly what I found. Very easy to use. I have never had any problems with them and they get water all over the mats almost constantly with timed watering. No issues at all. I keep the thermostats elevated out of the water spray, so the critical connections always stay dry. I am a fan of Vivosun products and will purchase them in the future.

I read some reviews saying the thermostat did not read true. I took a chance and bought one last month for my seedling heat mat then ran a test when I got it. I set it to 80 for my mat with a cup of water on it. Put the thermostat thingy in the water and waited testing every so often. The thermostat read consistently .2 higher than my instant thermometer so good there. It shut off at 80.2 and turned back on at 79.5 - perfect. I was happy so I bought the second one I needed and it tested the same. I am very happy with these

I purchased 4 of these mats. 1 of the mats didn't work properly and I contacted the company. I had a replacment mats hipped out without any hassle.

Received mine two days ago and promptly hooked it up only to discover that the LCD readout only functioned partially. As it stands I am unable to see the actual temperature readings or know for sure if I have set the correct temp on the unit as only parts of the number grids will display but not enough to know exactly what number you are setting. Aside from the bad display, the unit seems very basic to operate and the included instructions were sufficient. Like many others, I must have gotten a bad unit. EDIT 01/01/2017 I was contacted by the seller shortly after posting my original review and they offered to replace the defective unit for me. Upon receiving the replacement unit with expedited shipping, I am happy to say that the display is working perfectly and it appears to be maintaining the temperatures much better too. I'm very satisfied with how things were address and resolved.

works pretty good , although mine all of a sudden stopped putting out Fahrenheit , it only gives me Celsius . so, I have to do conversions to use.

This is the first time I have grown vegetables, especially from seed indoors. I have used the mat for about a month and a half now and it's been working great for my jalapeno and tomato seeds. Where I expected germination to occur in 2-3 weeks for my peppers, I saw results in about a week and a half. The controller for the mat is easy to understand and operate once you read the manual. I like that the thermometer probe comes with a suction cup so you can secure it to any humidity dome you are using. The probe seems to be accurate and reacts to changes in temperature quickly. I grow my seedlings in the basement where it's around 18C, but the mat keeps the soil toasty at 24C all day everyday no problem. I would buy the mat again if I needed to grow more seedlings in the future - for 20-25 dollars I think it is a good price.

I have a 76-cell seed starting dome and a warming mat to go with it. I'm relatively new to growing from seed but I'm a particular sort of person and figured that consistent temperature was probably important for speeding up sprouting... ...I was right. I notched a little hole for the cable out of the plastic dome and fed the probe through, positioning it into the center of the tray and set it to 75 degrees. Setting it was really simple, so I'm not sure what the other reviews talking about it being impossible to figure out were doing... Press and hold the top button for a few seconds then press up or down to set the preferred temperature; east peasy. My basil, cherry tomato and pepperoncini seeds have been warming with the help of this mat and they're definitely sprouting quicker than before. I'll have to take a look and see if Vivosun makes a multi-outlet, multi-temp model because not every plant's seeds have the same optimum temperature for germination. In short? 5 stars from me. It works exactly as expected.

I do like this product I use it to monitor my heating pad for my Kenyan sand boa. It looks like the picture easy to program and its display is red so if ur like me and have a tank in your room it won't keep you up. I will say though it does fluctuate by 5 degrees here and there but it's better then me not having it at all I can sleep better knowing my snake won't burn. Before I had this my tank heater was just on and it got up to 150f now it's 90-98f which is about where I want it and I figure in the wild they don't get the same temperature all the time. I would defiantly recommend this if you don't have the money for the 50+ dollar reptile one.
