Dear sir . Hello . My garden hose size is 1/2" its fitting the set . But I need to know what thread size of the connector for water tap ?

U.S. hoses can be either 1/2" opening or 5/8" inside diameter of the hose itself. The threads on the end connectors are a standard size. The Gardena are the best to buy even if they cost a little more than other options. The quick disconnect is flawless compared to others I have tried.

Is this for connecting to faucet or connecting hose end to either sprinkler or another hose?

You can use these on a faucet, sprinkler, watering wand or to couple two hoses. Anywhere you want to disconnect with out screwing the fittings off. Great for arthritic hands. Just pull the collar up and your done.

why do you suppose the metal Gardena quick connect set has a 1year warranty and the plastic set has a lifetime warranty???

It's probably for the lifetime of the parts - some of mine broke after a few months! Seriously, the plastic versions of the male connectors tend to break at their narrowest point. They can't be very expensive to manufacture, though, so I guess the company can take a chance on those while the metal version is very expensive.

Where can you get replacement O rings for the Gardena quick connect set

McMaster-Carr has o-rings of every size, and shipping is cheap.
