Mountain House Spaghetti with Beef Marinara | Freeze Dried Backpacking & Camping Food |2 Servings

I've been slowly trying out freeze dried meals for my camping trips and this is one to buy again. Seasoned nicely, not too salty like some meals can be. And this one hydrates perfectly and super-quick too. As long as you bring a basic measuring cup with you, it's quick & easy to prepare.I do have to say that while it is labeled as two servings, it will depend on a couple of factors...1. How hungry are you?2. Is this all that is for dinner?Personally, i was really famished and ate the whole thing myself...for reference, i'm only 5'6" & 115lbs. I found it to be adequately filling although I could have stopped a few bites short of finishing but it was so tasty, i had to polish it off.So i'd definitely recommend this one for camping and will be buying this again since it's priced so reasonably.

I've tried several of Mountain House's camping meals, this is probably one of my favorites. With freeze-dried camping meals there's often a tradeoff between convenience and shelf life for taste. This is one instance where I didn't feel a tradeoff at all. If you can follow extremely simple instructions, then in about 10 minutes, including time to boil water, you can be eating a delicious spaghetti meal.Sometimes when you make a camping meal you end up with too much excess moisture or the ingredients don't reconstitute well. Not the case with this one. The pasta was tender, the sauce had just the right thickness, there were even a few chunks of recognizable tomatoes. The sauce had just the right taste to it, not necessarily a homemade marinara sauce, more like out of a jar. But I grew up on that stuff so this meal had me feeling pretty nostalgic.The package says 2 servings but I consumed it all for myself and felt sufficiently full. Some people may not care for the fact that the spaghetti noodles have been trimmed down to 1-2 inch pieces rather than long strands, but it doesn't impact the flavor or the texture and I'm sure it is done to simplify the packaging process.If you're a fan of spaghetti with marinara sauce that tastes like it came from the grocery store like me, then I highly recommend you give this one a try.

This made my top 10 list. The taste is good and the quality is good. It has a decent flavor. The size is good enough for me and the wife. I try to purchase my top ten list once a month.

Easy to prepare. It smells really, really good. Very tasty too. Probably one of the best tasting backpacking meals.Hint- when preparing any freeze-dried meal, it tastes better if you open it up and let it get a breath of fresh air before starting to heat the water. Give it a few good shakes. This takes all the funk out of freeze dried meals. Remember it hasn’t had a breath of fresh air since it was sealed. Shaking also breaks up the clumps and distributes the yummy sauce. Then add boiling water and wait. It takes about 5 minutes longer to be fully hydrated than the directions state.

Tastes great, your family will never know you switched brands on them. Really great flavor and texture. Get both sizes and always have on hand. All you need is hot water and five minutes. No can opener needed.

Taste delicious, sweet with a hint of spices, Easy to travel with and good bang for your buck. Truly enjoyed this flavor. Mountain house for the win!
