Fiebing's Leather Sole & Heel Edge Dressing (4 oz) - High Gloss, Protective Shoe Dressing Polish - Includes Brush Applicator

When you have a pair of good leather shoes, with leather soles, the edges of the soles get scuffed. For years I just used shoe polish to cover those scuffs. It really isn't very durable, though. I don't polish my shoes that often; usually a little brush action takes care of scuffs on the uppers. This Edge Dressing is purpose-made for these scuffs. It's a very runny liquid, and the cap has a cotton-ball dauber built in. When my shoes are scuffed, I put them on a bench, and rub the dauber around the edge of the soles. I wipe off the excess with a rag or paper towel, and within a moment or two the liquid has soaked in and dried off. A niche product, to be sure. But I have very narrow feet and have to wear expensive shoes. My goal is to never have to buy shoes again; just have the ones I have re-soled when they wear out. Edge Dressing helps keep my shoes looking good, which matters when I'm trying to get 30 more years out of a pair.

Nice shine, easy to apply. Perhaps a little too thin like water, and I needed 2 coats for a dark brown look. I used this on several pairs of expensive cowboy boots. Great value for the price. The shine has lasted through several bearings, but 1 single horseback ride. It dried to a nice shine in just under 5 minutes.

This product does the job. I have been using it for years… Both professionally and personally! Highly recommend.

Best by far on leather soles. Will stain floors if not completely dry.

Works great

I use this sole and heel edge dressing on a lot of work and cowboy boots. It is easy to apply and holds up well as long as you let it thoroughly dry. Also, a few times I have needed to apply a second coat to well-worn boots. The applicator is included in the lid, and I have never had a problem with it wearing out or drying up.

This stuff does color the sole edge, but it needs work. 1. Too thin and runny; drips too easily. Spread the newspaper first. 2. The applicator is a round swab. It ought to be a narrower rectangle for better control. 3. It takes two coats to do a proper job. 4. It barely covers FlexSeal glue, which is what I used. to stick the new sole to the shoes. The black nail polish I applied first only helped a little to get the edge dressing to stick. Years ago in the Army, everybody used some type of edge dressing which was easier and less messy to apply. Can't remember the brand name.

Easy to use to touch up scuffed soles or heels on cowboy boots. Be careful this can stain leather, I found q-tips good for tight areas. Makes edges look like new again. Recommended.
