Amazing stuff!
I purchased this Smooth-On set for a class project. I looked at a couple of other materials, including some alginate kits. I decided to go with this one, because I would be able to use the molds multiple times. Since this was my first time working with any sort of molding materials I wanted to be safe (probably too safe :D), so in addition to this set, I also purchased Hyper-Folic Release Additive and Body Double Release Cream (both Smooth-On products). I would have to say that this product is super easy to use and nearly impossible to screw up (adding the hyper-folic was also super simple). I only used the release cream once, since it leaves a waxy residue inside the mold, but it definitely works as well. I used the casting kit to make molds of hands, and releasing the mold from the model after the wait time took some patience. I did find that air-cans (the kind used to clean dust from computer keyboards) helps release the mold from the model (when used in short bursts) and it also helps release the positive mold from the negative mold. I definitely want to use this Smooth-On product for future projects I have in mind.

Itโs awesome.
It works great. I used it for extremely intricate mold and it worked awesome, every single small detail showed, and itโs very durable as well.

Exactly What I Needed
I have breast cancer and my friends helped me make a silicone cast of my OG chest for post-op art projects. This was the perfect product for it. Things to know: -I kept Parts A and B in a cold car during February in Massachusetts before use, personally I think this helped prolong the working time but it DEFINITELY made things more difficult to mix together- 1. Getting it out of the container is the most obnoxious part. Be prepared with a LONG, FLEXIBLE TOOL to get the goo out of the very bottom of the jars and scrape all the hard bits (white solids that are normal in both Part A and B) off the walls of the jar 2. Try to get as many of the lumps of hard stuff smooshed into the blue and pink goo BEFORE you combine them 3. Once you pour A and B into the same vessel, mix them very thoroughly but donโt rush or youโll incorporate a ton of bubbles 4. Give the goo 60 seconds after mixing to get a bit more viscous if your body part is on a vertical plane, because if the skin is properly lubed up, THE GOO WILL SLIP if itโs still very thin. We had some issues initially while I was standing, but once the goo started thickening everything got much easier 5. It wonโt make for a Pretty/Professional mold, but for a moment or two after the goo starts to gel, you can rip pieces of it off where thereโs extra and use it to patch the exterior of your molding. Itโs definitely an amateur move, but I AM an amateur, and it worked where we didnโt get things quite right initially 6. You will be able to feel when the mold has *really* set and begins to loosen and pull away from the skin. Be gentle, but know that as long as youโre properly lubricated, removing the mold is really very easy

Best product for real definition body casting
The material is a bit messy but it works so well. Itโs also super easy to use making a 50/50 ratio mixture. It will rip your hair off so use lots of Vaseline. It also works best when you spatula or paint the material on rather than pour. You also want to make sure your wearing clothing you donโt care about and lay down a tarp.

Awesome face mask for sealing in moisture
This is like a forever face mask! If you've ever seen those flimsy silicone face masks that don't fit your face and constantly fall off, you'll be happy to have found this! It's super easy to use, forms to every little part of your face, comes off easily without release cream, and is reuseable!!! You can layer it on as much as you want to make it thicker. I had an open sore on my face that wouldn't heal but after putting this on my face, it healed up right away. Highly recommend!!!

Feom runny to glue too fast
Works as intended. High detail, but the working time is too short. So it's easy to misshapen the skin as it pulls quickly as it sets so quickly. Mixing it by the 2oz of each at a time, you have like 35 seconds to spread it and then it's too thick. But 90% of your time is spent trying to keep them first few seconds from dripping to the floor...lol from hot honey to glue trap in half a minute ๐

Great for face casting
This worked excellent for face casting. A longer working time is needed for larger surfaces.

LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!
This was a first for us, and this kit made it easy. WE used 4 kits to create a cast of my leg mixing each one after we put the first layer on.. it peeled off fairly easy and is super durable. I am looking forward to creating multiple castings for an art piece.. just figuring out what I can use so I can create more than one leg sculpture
