Fisher-Price Baby Toy Stack & Roll Cups, 10-Piece Stacking & Nesting Activity for Developmental Play Infants Ages 6+ Months

We got this when my daughter was around 7 to 8 months. I think this would have appealed to her at an earlier age, as well, because of the vibrant colors and the jingly yellow ball. She loved the yellow ball right off the bat and held it continually during playtime for the next few weeks. The ball seems to be the perfect size for little hands and is a cheery yellow with a smiley face and happy jingle. Soon she was also dumping the cups out of the plastic basket they are kept in, examining them, banging them together, and sometimes excitedly kicking and scattering a noisy pile of cups. Now at 11 months she has been starting to set them back in the basket, put toys in the cups, and nest them. I purchased this after reading all the high reviews and I was not disappointed. I love that this toy is so open ended. There are many things to do and it can grow with baby. The cups can be stacked up, nested within each other, and snapped into balls. They are fun to bang together and knock down (I stack them loosely). Mom and Dad find lots of ways to use these, too. I like to make the bowls into boats the small stuffed animals sit in, put finger puppets in the holes, set them on our heads as hats, rub the ridged edges together, and make clip clop noises while clapping them together (Monty Python Holy Grail coconut style). My husband showed her how to peek through the holes in the cups and also hides toys underneath them. When she is older, we can use the numbers that are molded into the sides of the cups. We can also name colors (they are in Roy G. Biv order) and match the different colored cups to other toys with the same color. I expect we will be using the stack and roll cups in some fashion for the next several months, at least. Out of the various toys so far this has probably been the one shown the most continual interest - meaning interest in playing with during one sitting and interest in over a period of time. Although toys that do things (speak, flash lights, etc.) are fun for a little while, I much prefer toys you do things *with*. If I were to choose a baby toy for a gift, this would very likely be it.

I bought this for my 2 1/2 yr old who has down syndrome. I would definitely recommend it for younger ages as well. I wasn't sure if it would be to babyish but you can do a lot with it. It is great for stacking and you have to push each one so it clicks, you can also play peek a boo with it when they are all stacked it makes like a little telescope. The ball on top has a little bell in it and its great to play like a cup game where you take 2 and eventually 3 of the sections and hide the ball and let her guess which one it is under, obviously you show them which one and then let them watch you move them and they they guess. My daughter loves it and gets it right every time. Also for finger dexterity each section is color coordinated with its matching shade and the also all have a number on it and they snap together to make balls. So your child can push them together and also there is a hole on the top of each section so when you make the ball they can pull it apart by putting their index finger in the whole. It is even great for speech with the "b" sound for ball and the "P" sound for push and pull. It definitely is very functional.

This is my favorite toy. It has open ended play possibilities and the inventor is a sheer genius. You can take two pieces and make assorted sizes of round balls. You can also hide all kinds of objects inside the balls, even something as large as a hotwheels car. The balls can be used to create a tactile experience or an auditory one (for example cotton balls for touch and large bells for music making). The half circles form two halves, which snap together to make a giant ball. The pieces lock in place and can be picked up as one unit and used as a telescope or megaphone. There is a quarter sized hole in each semi circle half. The stack can be locked in place out of order for some of the sizes and balls can be made out of alternate colors--for example red to a yellow. Of course, it is completely washable and bleachable. You can use it in the bathtub or wading pool. The halves make great scoops for sand or bean play. Who doesn't enjoy watching the sand or beans pour out the hole? The fun, smiley ball is a rattle and fits inside any size of balls. The stack is completely stable upside down and won't tip over. I have a degree in child development and nursing and work as a baby nanny and I buy this for all my children. I also donate these to a friend of mine who runs a daycare for special needs. The Stack is great for learning colors and numbers. You can make a stack of 2 as easily as a stack of 8. I love this toy and I hope Fisher-Price never stops making it. Five stars for endless development milestone scaffolding. Use your imagination, your child can't wear out this toy.

This is one of the most fun and educational toys you can buy for your baby - we tend to prefer wood toys, but there's no equivalent to this that I've found for developing spatial relationships, thinking about how things fit together, learning about shape and size and color. There is SO much to do with this toy, and both my kids played with it for hours. The smiley-face rattle ball is a delight for kids, too. My oldest daughter learned to crawl because she was determined to catch that ball as it rolled around - that's how much she absolutely loved it. And that's really just the tip of the iceberg - this toys is great for developing fine motor skills as babies try to stack them and then put them together. Take apart! Put together! Stack! Unstack! We also used them for peekaboo and developing ideas about "permanence" - my husband was always experimenting with what our babies knew about object permanence using these cups. For example: he would hide a little toy under the orange cup in front of a baby, slide it behind his back, and slide it out again with the toy under the red cup. The surprise of this seemed to delight my kids. And the fact that these are balls and not cups also makes a huge difference in the entertainment factor. Later we used the balls as little "homes" in imaginative play - beehives for stuffed bees or spaceships for pretend aliens. We've given this as a gift to many people with babies - it doesn't look like much on the surface, but if I had to have just ONE toy for a baby, this might be it. (I also like that it's not that satisfying to chew on, because it IS plastic - neither of my kids chewed on it much, even though they played with it a lot.) This is intended for babies, but preschoolers at our house always gravitate toward it and build with it, too - not for hours, but it gets a lot of attention.

I bought this for my 10 mos old. He is approaching year old now and still likes playing with it. Pros: Variety! You can stack the cups. You can join the cups together to make five different size balls. You can even stack the cups on non-consecutive cups. Colors are nice and vibrant, with great numbers (although too early for baby to understand them just yet). Cons: Sometimes a little hard to take the cups apart after you joined them together to make a ball. Baby would most likely not have the strength to pull them apart without an adult's help, but that might be a good thing. Also, the little ball serves little point and just gets lost. Overall, great toy and very happy with it. Price is great, too.

I know I'm probably a big kid but I got these in today and we have been playing with these a few hours. The bowls are larger then expected, bigger then the stacking cups we own but my baby loves to knock things over and he is also into balls right now. It's really easy to make them into balls, they just easily snap together and snap apart but this will be difficult for young babies to unsnap. When you stack them up they snap too which are different then the stacking cups we own but it's difficult for babies to knock over, the whole tower would fall but you don't have to snap them when stacking but it's harder to stack right. That's my only complaint.. My baby loves to knock them over, teeth on them and play with the balls. He loves the little yellow smiley rattle ball too. You can also use other balls you own like the Einstein ones and put them into the balls as well. It's also a great toy for peek-a-boo because you can hide the yellow ball under a bowl by itself and see if the baby knows or remembers where it is hidden. You can stack these. You can put them into balls and stack the balls which is a nice challenge. You can nest them. Make each one into balls. Put the smiley rattle ball into a larger ball that you make. You can make a ball and put into a larger ball that you create. You can hide the yellow ball under the bowl and see if baby can find it or remember where you put it or even other smaller toys. We just got these in today and I'm sure we will find more uses for them and I see them being a long lived toy. It's very versatile! I hope you found my information helpful. If you have a child turning one year old- buy this toy! It's awesome! It's a full size tower, it's a small tower, it's a bunch of balls, it's balls inside of larger balls, it's cups inside of cups, it's a little rattle ball inside of a large ball. The pictures on Amazon don't do this product justice. These were a gift for my son when he turned one. It impressed me so much that I now buy one for every baby I know who is turning one. My son is now almost three and still likes to pull these out to play with, because he can do more "advanced" things with them. A young child can easily grasp each color because there is a large hole in the top. They can manipulate them and can knock them over if an adult stacks them loosely. The yellow smiley face ball rattles, which babies love. As the child gets older he/she can stack them tightly (they fit into grooves on each color), connect two adjoining colors to make a ball (i.e. 9 with 10 or 9 with 8), stack them differently (3 on top of 1 will fit into a different set of grooves than 3 on top of 2). A child a little bit older can pull the balls apart by sticking their fingers in the holes and pulling, (it takes some muscle to do that), and can make a small ball (10 and 9) fit into a larger ball (8 and 7). I like how numbers are included and the colors are in rainbow order. It's also a plus that the ball rattles so that you can hear it rolling under the couch!

I like this toy and have bought it twice for gifts as well. I find that not only does it work as a stacker toy, but its good for rolling back and forth with baby as it can be made into 5 different size balls. You can play hide and seek with the yellow rattle ball. Babies can learn to count to 10 and learn colors because of the 1-10 imprints on the stacker itself. When they are older, they make excellent examples of odd and even, pretend bowls for play kitchens too (no liquids because of the holes in each half sphere. My only problem with these is they stay together really well when put together and often you need to pry the toy apart using the holes in the ball. We bring it to relatives houses for my kids to play with because it packs really well compared to other toys and has different types of play. You can take odds and evens and make two stacks of 5 instead of one stack of 10 as well so more than one kiddo can play at a time.

Unter anderem die kleine gelbe Kugel (rassel) Und die Funktion der Halbkugeln sind Super, entweder als Turm, Als mehrere kugeln, oder super zum verstaun als ein Größere Kugel! Die Dinger halten auch jede Menge aus selbst wenn sie rumgeworfen oder sonstwas werden... Und man kann damit gut Motorik Farben und Zahlen lernen! Von meiner Seite sehr empfehlenswert!!! :)
