Ski Queen Gjetost Original Goat Cheese 8.8 ounces 2 pack

So glad I can have a piece of Norway in my home with this amazing cheese! I got hooked while I visited Norway, then found it in New Zealand more so than USA... so I was stoked when I could get it here in US!

The package arrived intact from Norsland Lefse, sturdily wrapped in three bubble wrap envelopes, the inner one metalicised. The cheese was cold and firm (not warm & melted as other people said in the comments) even though the cold ice pack was melted. The Norwegian brown cheese, from Norsland Lefse in Minnesota, was rich tasting with lots of flavor and had a mild sweetness like I remembered it when I traveled in Norway years ago. I had been looking for that cheese in stores for years and could not find it. I'm glad Norsland Lefse carries it on Amazon. It is definitely a value for the money. It reminded me of traveling in Norway, such a beautiful country with the fiords, the high mountains, and friendly people. I immediately stored it in the freezer like Norsland lefse recommended. Even though I've never bought products from Norsland Lefse, on Amazon or anywhere else, I keep mentioning the store I bought the cheese from, Norsland Lefse, because Amazon has a bad habit of lumping many companies, that sell the same or similar products, in together, and you cannot tell, if the product and the company selling it, are what people are talking about in the comments! Amazon, get real; we read the comments to find out if the product advertised is what it says it is! I cannot say enough about the quality of the product (Ski Queen classic creamy caramel cheese in the orange wrapper) and the wonderful, quality service of Norsland Lefse in Minnesota. I will definitely buy again from Norsland Lefse!

I was introduced to this cheese when I was young and I cannot find it in any store anywhere! When I saw it on Amazon, I had to order it. It’s a little expensive but it’s worth it if you’ve never tried it you should you might really enjoy it. It’s very rich and creamy.

First taste reminded me of a diluted Kraft caramel, with a slightly salty ending. It didn’t improve after that. I was intrigued by the description and wanted to try it but I won’t bother eating any more of it. It didn’t taste bad, it just doesn’t taste like cheese to me. I’m giving it 3 stars because the cheese wasn’t at fault; it’s just not appealing to me.

Heard of this wonderful cheese from some of my friends who had traveled to Scandinavia, and decided I needed to try it. Purchased once before, and the package arrived just before the start of Lent. How PERFECT Gjetost is thinly sliced, and served with little thin sliced of warm, buttery brown bread and a handful mixed nuts and raisins...love it. I've enjoyed several meatless meals this way, and ordered this batch to introduce my grandson to "Viking Food." A slightly sweet, caramel taste...can almost picture sitting by a campfire on a crisp evening, toasting the cheese over the fire and sliding it onto Graham Crackers (or, for authenticity, Danish Rugbrod or Norse Rieska), sipping hot coffee or chocolate and watching the night sky. Beautiful.

Melted cheese- in the middle of winter. Do not recommend!
