Banana Boat Light as Air Sunscreen Lotion, SPF50

This was another one of my wife’s skincare/sun-care purchases, and honestly this sunscreen ended up being much better than the greasy sunscreen nightmares a lot of us grew up with. 😄 The biggest thing she liked was how lightweight it feels once applied. It absorbs much better than the thick oily “you now resemble a buttered rotisserie chicken” style sunscreens. The non-greasy feel also makes it way easier to actually want to use consistently, especially during hotter weather when heavy lotions already feel miserable. One thing we especially appreciated is that it didn’t leave a super heavy sticky layer afterward, and overall it stayed comfortable during normal outdoor use. The SPF 50 protection is also nice for longer outdoor time, walks, yard work, farm stuff, travel, or general summer survival. The twin pack ended up being a good value too because sunscreen somehow disappears rapidly once warm weather starts. The scent was also much more tolerable than some sunscreens that smell aggressively like a chemical beach explosion. Overall, this turned out to be a genuinely solid sunscreen with good protection, lightweight feel, and much better wearability than older greasy sunblock formulas.

The Banana Boat Light As Air SPF 50 Twin Pack is exactly what I want in a summer sunscreen. The lotion goes on smoothly, absorbs fast, and truly lives up to the “light as air” name. No greasy film, no heavy residue, and no feeling like you’re wearing a layer of glue—just clean, comfortable protection. It holds up well during outdoor activities, even in heat and humidity. I’ve used it for cycling, hiking, and yard work, and it stays put without turning shiny or slick. The scent is mild and pleasant, and the twin‑pack size is great value if you go through sunscreen quickly.

This is the most economical option for those looking for a very effective but invisible and light sunscreen. I found it very easy to apply and rub into the skin and within a few seconds it had been absorbed into my skin creating a dry and invisible UV ray barrier that I was barely aware of. The two pack was 12 ounces for $15.95—or about $1.30 per ounce—a fraction of the cost of some of the boutique and facial moisturizing sunscreens that will set you back as much as $20.00 per ounce. I use this product often as I rock climb outside here in Las Vegas once a week all through the summer months. The sun is very intense in the Mojave desert, and I have extremely pale white skin that doesn’t tan and burns easily with minimal exposure. This is a chemical—not a mineral based formulation, and it fulfills the required task of preventing my skin from burning.

Received this 2 pack of [Banana Boat Light as Air, 6 oz] very quickly, next day, in great condition, with the bag clearly marked as this being a set and the bag was sealed. The tube is changed. I emailed the manufacturer and they responded within 1 business day to confirm the tube now has a flat edge instead of a rounded edge. The sunscreen is a chemical sunscreen, and it dries down very quickly to a soft, non-greasy finish. I use it on my hands and arms because Texas sun is intense right now! So far, it protects the skin without signs of burning or tanning. The tube of sunscreen in the new packaging looks, feels and works exactly the same as the one in original packaging. The scent is fruity, so some people may not like that. I am okay with it, because I'm just happy it doesn't make a mess on my clothes or my car's black interior. I ordered in August 2026 and the tubes have a July 2028 expiration date, so I'm happy with that. My tube from Walmart.com received in August, also had expiry of February 2028 - so, looks like this version of this really good sunscreen is still in production. This is great because I read that the "Face" version was discontinued and the replacement does not have the same finish on the skin. Overall, I'm happy with this sunscreen. It will be great for use on kids due to the quick dry-down.

OK, so hear me out. I've been on a JOURNEY to find a sunscreen that I am willing to wear daily and feel comfortable in. I have tried so many. While I like Asian sunscreens the most for how comfortable they are to wear, they are expensive and hard to find in the US so I have been looking for an alternative. I absolutely hate to feel greasy. This sunscreen does not leave me feeling greasy and does not feel heavy on my skin. It absorbs quickly, and while there is a slight, initial sting on my skin it doesn't burn my eyes like other sunscreens. There is no white cast. It doesn't transfer onto clothing. The scent is very light and I don't notice it once it's dried. At first I thought this was the Holy Grail of a affordable, US made sunscreen, but then I learned there was a catch. I find that my face sweats much more when I wear this. I have never been an upper lip sweater, but when I get hot and have this sunscreen on, I need to dab my upper lip and forehead frequently. I will still use this, especially when the weather is cooler, but have I come to the end of my quest for the perfect sunscreen? Unfortunately, no.

I HATE putting on sunscreen! They’re always greasy yet somehow leave your skin feeling sticky at the same time (especially the spray on kinds)?! Most of them have a super strong smell, and even if it’s a good smell it’s so strong it ends up giving me a headache. A couple years ago Coppertone came out with a whipped sunscreen that I was borderline obsessed with! It changed my life when it came to the dread of putting on sunscreen. It was moisturizing, but not greasy. It left not a hint of stickiness, and it didn’t not have an overwhelming smell! I was ecstatic! I had it set to auto deliver the double pack all summer long! My whole family and extended family also loved it! Well, the very next summer they discontinued it and my family and I (especially) we’re devastated! They didn’t even come out with something similar. It was just gone! Since then I’ve been searching for any kind of comparable sunscreen to no avail! I’ve tried them all! Then, about a month ago I found this one!! This is it!! It’s only as good as the coppertone whipped, but in some ways it’s better!! It’s not greasy or sticky at all. It spreads easily and has the softest, lightest, most amazing smell as well! It feels like I’m putting on my favorite lotion! Plus, no one in my family has gotten the slightest bit burned! Even my beautiful porcelain skinned 4 year old daughter who you have to drag off the beach or out of the pool when the sun goes down because she thinks she’s a mermaid! 🤣 I have nothing bad to say about this sunscreen!! I have stocked up just in case…. But Please please please don’t discontinue it!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

So pleased with this light sunscreen, it smells amazing and truly does feel so much lighter and less tacky than any other sunscreen I have used. The spf is strong and reliable!

Ugh. This sunscreen smells absolutely disgusting.... fake pineapple fruity bleh!!! Avoid if you have any sense of smell at all.

there is no date on it and i found 2019 i don't know what is this but i think that made on this date and now in 2021 it should be expired!
