Tomodachi Collection [Japan Import]

A little hard to understand, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty good! All you have to do is make Mii's, feed them, and help them out in their everyday lives! Plus, I'm playing on my American DSi XL, so region lock isn't an issue. If you're into buying foreign games, definitely add this to your collection!

Some Japanese games on a DS! How do I know all this? Well I just ordered it and it arrived yesterday so I opened up my 3DS XL, and it works perfectly! You just gotta know Japanese if you are going to play this game!

I bought a used copy of this game because people on here were saying they could play it on their American 3DS. However, when I put it in, it was region locked. As it turned out, with a little more research, I discovered that 2009 was the year region locks began to take place. It's very well possible that non-region locked copies have come out and these reviewers have purchased them, but purchasing this game for any 3DS that is NOT Japanese is a gamble.It is also possible that people have mistaken this game for its sequel, which IS available for American devices. It is also possible people did not buy a used version and it possibly affected the way the game works. Lastly, some of these people could have lifted region locks on their system and just didn't bother to tell us.If you are interested in this game and have a little extra money to "gamble" with, you can see if this game works for you, otherwise, don't buy it unless you have a Japanese (REGION) system. I'm fortunate enough that I am going to buy a Japanese 3DS anyway to keep up with my studies, so now I just have my first game for it. For the record, this is not a fair rating, I haven't played the game yet. This is to merely warn people because there are not enough reviews stating it might not work.

This game is basically a non-3d version of Tomodachi life. I thought it would be good for brushing up on my Japanese. The reading is good, but the spoken voice is too robotic to be of much use. Overall, I think it is OK from a learning, provided you have some reading comprehension.I would not recommend this for someone who just wants to play the game as the English version has better graphics and it is easier to play.

Since the game was made in 2009, it has no region lock. I play this on my 3DS regularly and it works perfectly. The only complaint I have is that the sticker on the cartridge was a bit dinged up, but besides that it's a great product!
