Perfect Nursery Curtains
Purchased these curtains for my daughterโs nursery after seeing how much better she napped in a dark room. Put them up yesterday and they completely darken her room. Her normal 45 minute nap is now going an hour and 15 minutes and counting! I picked out the light gray since her room is gray and pink. I was surprised how much I liked the color. Itโs a very soft gray which is perfect for the room. In terms of style they arenโt my favorite. I wish they had different options for the top. Iโd like something that looked a little less modern without the large round rings but again, they get the job done. They were easy to hang, I did put them in the bathroom with the steam on for a few minutes to try and get there wrinkles out. I also ironed them on medium heat. They were still a little wrinkled but after a day I could seen them starting to straighten out. There is a strange smell that lasted a few hours after I hung them but it did fade. My advice is to hang them early before you have to use the room. Give them time to air out. I first laid them in the bathroom, steamed them with a mist of water and fabric softener and let air out. Then I hung them for a few hours after that in the room and the smell was pretty much gone.

Affordable, Good-looking Grommet-Top Curtains with Terrific Light-Blocking Capability
I am delighted with these curtains. Sold in pairs, not single panels, they cost less than 9 out of 10 comparable items I found in stores and on the web. Unlike others I bought and returned, these block the light coming in an east-facing bedroom window! They also muffle some outdoor noise, a bonus. They are available in solid colors and a variety of lengths. The fabric has a lightly sueded texture and a weight I have not found elsewhere in curtains of this type. They hang beautifully, and the grommets make it a cinch to hang and adjust them. They come with matching velcro holdbacks. Further, they are LINED (in white) and keep out heat and cold without that awful fused thermal backing that can crack and peel. They are washable. When you take them out of the package, plan to iron or steam them to remove the creases. Grommet-top curtains are meant to hang on round rods, not standard, flat rods, but if you don't want to change over, standard will do, it just won't look as nice. There are also light-blocking curtain rods available to make these curtains even more effective.

These are my go to curtains
I absolutely adore these curtains! They are the best value for blackout curtains Amazon has to offer, well in my opinion anyway. This spring I needed to update some rooms at our farmhouse to get ready for a memorial, we had about 20 people staying at our home, all from different areas of the world. It was important for me to make sure that good sleep was had by all, I purchased these curtains for four bedrooms, I ordered black and white. I will say, the black are perfect! they block all the light from the outside, I hung these specifically on the west side of the house as that is the side the sun goes down, our guests did not complain and woke up looking well rested. I will say the white curtains are not as room darkening as the black, for obvious reasons. Do they block like the black curtains, no, do they do an incredible job of keeping the bright sunlight out on the east side of the house, absolutely! These curtains are in no way sheer...they are heavy so make sure you have your curtain brackets mounted with heavy duty screws, I didn't and had to rehang them, they are heavy, but get the job done. The one con I have about this product would be that they are not wrinkle free...hello they come folded! However I have steamed them several times, and by about the third steam, they were not noticeable to the average person. I did not try to iron them, as I was nervous about ruining them. I would highly recommend these for anyone looking for an inexpensive blackout curtain.

These pass the flashlight test! But, also come with some negatives
I haven't seen anyone talking about this in their reviews, but these are true black-out curtains that pass the flashlight test! The flashlight test helps determine if you truly have black-out curtains or just "room-darkening" ones. The test is simple, just turn on your phone's flashlight and put your phone against the back to shine the light through the curtain. If no light at all passes, then you truly have black-out curtains like these! These curtain have been great, the grey color is a perfectly cool color for my bedroom and they have greatly helped my quality of sleep by blocking the light. However, as great as these curtains are, they have 3 main negatives: First, these are impossible to iron. I spent over an hour trying to iron these curtains and the creases from shipping will not come out. You need to use a low-to-mid heat setting otherwise you risk melting the plastic on the back and ruining the black-out finish. I've noticed other reviewers complain about this and also how they do not fare well in the wash. After having these for a week, some of the smaller wrinkles have worked their way out to the fabric, but the big creases from shipping are incredibly obvious. I noticed that other people have had luck with steaming their curtains, however that's an extra cost I was hoping to avoid. Second, bought three sets of the gray curtains and received two different noticeable shades. Two of my sets are a cool gray color whereas my third set is noticeably greenish-gray. Admittedly, this was hard to capture on camera, but it is noticeable when the curtains are closed and next to each other. I don't understand how this could have happened, but when placed next to each other it is noticeable with my lamp on. The "cool gray" curtains feel more like a soft fabric where the "green-gray" curtains feel more slick and artificial. Also, the "cool gray" curtains smelled very strong for a couple of hours, however the "green-gray" curtains had no smell out of the box. Third, these offer NO noise cancellation at all. None. Don't fool yourself into thinking that these will help with noise, because there is no difference with outside noise with these curtains. The curtains are about as thick as a canvas tote and noise still easily goes through the fabric. As silly as it seems, try it yourself before buying, put on some music and then put a canvas tote on your head, you'll notice there is virtually no noise cancellation, just like these curtains. These curtains aren't all bad however, they have some great aspects. First and foremost these make my bedroom very dark. Some light still comes through the grommet holes and the tops of the curtain, however I noticed my quality of sleep is much better because I am no longer constantly waking up at sunrise. Also, these have been great for some energy efficiency. I've noticed that if I keep my west-facing curtains closed during the hot summer days that my room hardly heats up like it used to. I don't know if I'd exactly claim that these are insulating, but they do help keep the harsh sun's rays from creating a greenhouse in my bedroom every afternoon. Overall, despite the three negatives I've pointed out, these curtains are great. They pass the flashlight test so you can rest easy knowing that your room will be completely dark thanks to these true blackout curtains.

Light blocking is second to none.
I ordered 2 sets of these (4 panels total in 84" length taupe) for a large west-facing window that gets full afternoon sun. We're in Texas and summers are brutal, so keeping out as much sun & heat gain as possible is a priority for me. First, these are definitely not shower curtains or shower curtain material. In my opinion, the top grommets may be what is contributing to that perception (mentioned in other reviews), but the tops of mine are hidden behind a valance so that's a non-issue for me, and if that is a concern, there are rod pocket versions of this same drape available. The fabric is a heavy triple weave with a light sheen, and a white backing. Nothing looks or feels at all plasticky or rubbery. The quality is nice, and they look and feel like a cotton twill drape when hung. They were folded in boxes and did not arrive excessively wrinkled (I hung them straight up from the box with no ironing or steaming), and the fabric drapes nicely. I will say that this fabric is a pet hair magnet, if that's a concern. The physical weight I would call medium - in my opinion, you don't need a heavy duty rod for these. I have 4 panels in the 84" length, and I am using a standard lightweight curtain rod. (Weight-wise, these are very light compared to velvet & suede drapes I have in other rooms of my home.) Now, what you came for: the light blocking is second to none. They keep the sun completely out and keep the room quite dark, which was my goal for the summer to increase energy efficiency & keep my home cooler. I have purchased other light-blocking panels (Eclipse blackouts) and these Amazon Basics are far superior in blocking light. These are true blackout panels. If you're looking to keep light out & keep a room dark, you can't beat these for the price.

Actual Black Out Curtains at a Great Price
We were looking for a set of blackout curtains for my toddler sonโs bedroom to help with nap time and going to bed early in the summer. So we really wanted BLACK OUT curtains. We tried a more expensive set from another brand first that ended up letting in a lot of light still. I decided to try these and bingo, we had a winner! These, combined with a wrap-around curtain rod so we can pull the curtains over the side of the window, black out extremely well. We can also tell that they help keep some of the summer heat out (they insulate so well, I have to crack them at night to allow cool air to come in his bedroom). Yes, the material does look more industrial and not as plush as some, part of why we chose these for childrenโs bedrooms and not our main living area. But they still look really cute, they lay extremely well and, most importantly, they do what theyโre supposed to do for a good price!

Nice black out curtains - Dark Blue Color
These curtains do a great job blocking out light. As another reviewer mentioned, it is very important to pay attention to how you put them on the curtain rod to avoid horrible top gaps. Light does come through the top (my curtain rod is set about 2 inches from the wall) but that is to be expected and is kind of nice so I have an idea of if it is morning or not. I ordered the dark blue curtains and they are definitely blackout. They aren't advertised as sound dampening but I live on a busy street and I would say they have helped with both the sound and wind draft through my windows compared to without. Overall, I would buy these again and recommend them to friends. Very happy with the quality and the more matte (definitely not shiny or iridescent) finish. They are quite heavy duty and mine did not have the "pool liner" smell others have described. They still have the packing folding wrinkles in them but I have not tried to do anything to try to fix that. They aren't the most beautiful but definitely some of the nicer blackout curtains I have seen below $100. Note: I have not washed these so cannot say if they are destroyed in the washer as others have shown.

What's not to love?!
I love these drapes! We HAD an ugly dark brown set of drapes that were already up when we moved in, and because of the hours that my husband works, sometimes he needs to sleep/nap during the daylight hours, so having those dark drapes kept the sun out really well. I was scared to change out the dark drapes not only because they kept the light out so well, but also because the cost for decent sized, quality, white, blackout drapes, tended to be a touch higher than I really wanted to spend. However, I ended up getting this set of drapes for an amazing deal through the amazon wharehouse, simply because they had been repackaged, even though they were still brand spanking new. And they block out the light perfectly! I've always wanted white, blackout drapes, but was also scared they would get dirty easily. Well, I accidentally DID get a smudge of some hidden dust on these drapes as I was hanging them, but it wiped right off. The drapes are made of a heavier/thicker, quality material, but not TOO heavy. They look fabulous, in my white, light grey, and silver decorated room! And as I said the price was right! My room even looks much brighter, AND much bigger, now, with them hanging up, so I don't mind the drapes being drawn anymore, I certainly used to mind when the drapes were that extremely ugly dark brown.

Super Quality, Soft Feel, Light Weight, Blackout Curtains
I must say - An amazing product from Amazon Basics ! At first I was little worried while taking a risk to buy curtains online but if you are a first time buyer you should definitely try this product. As you can see from the picture these curtains efficiently block the light, they are thick and at the same time are light in weight, isn't it surprising ! Well thats the selling point of this curtain. In some reviews people have mentioned about the plastic like quality but its far away from that, and it DOESN'T LOOK LIKE SHOWER CURTAINS. Yes it does get some wrinkles during packaging and transport but you can always iron it or hang it just like that, it doesn't looks bad. I had order smoke blue colour which completely changed the outlook of my room. And now I am planning to install these in rest of my rooms. Amazon Basics products are really value for money! Thank you Amazon for bringing up such products and for giving your services even to the remote areas of Varanasi. :):)

Perfect!
Liked the product. Serves my purpose of blocking light and keeping the room a bit more cooler. Cost effective. Would definitely suggest to iron the curtain before use as there are a lot of folds and wrinkles due to the packaging. Once ironed, the curtains look aesthetic pleasing.
