Ontel Mighty Sight LED Magnifying Eyewear, Black, Pack of 2

My son is Autistic. He is 40 years old but his cognitive age is 3-4-5 years of age. Cutting his finger nails (also toenails) but finger nails are a huge challenge. He will not sit still. I , mom am a left handed person and this makes the precision quite challenging as I have to come from behind him to cut them , it’s impossible for lefties to cut another persons nails from the front. Sometimes he walks around and will not sit down for me, so I am moving around as I cut nails. I am always so afraid I will nick him or hurt him by cutting too short . These Led magnifying eyewear with charging little lights to light up the magnification is like magic for me. I can see so well-I now cut his nails perfectly every time. Much more quickly as well. It also helps that I am trimming his nails with great confidenc which I feel is a blessed gift which helps with my accuracy and swiftness. I tell you it’s a trip to discover this simple concept and great invention in helping me and others for on themselves or to help another.

These glasses with lights are super handy and very cool. They’re great for seeing in the dark as well as up close for crafting projects. I would highly recommend purchasing these!

The eyewear certainly does the job for magnifying and the LEDs definitely illuminate what you're looking at. The only reason for FOUR (4) instead of FIVE (5) is the LEDs on one of the pair STOPPED WORKING the first time its' charging cord was plugged into the charging jack (they DID LIGHT before being charged! the LEDs on the other pair still work fine.). I'm not "making a fuss, etc." because it's the MAGNIFYING LENSES that are the prime reason for having them - the LEDs are "gravy, icing, etc." I do recommend them, but BE AWARE of the possible "fragility" of the charging jack.

I have to agree with "Copterdrvr" that I was disappointed that the quality of this product has plummeted from what I have purchased in the past. For years, I have enjoyed these glasses for doing crossword puzzles in bed after "Lights Out." I've never minded that they don't last a lifetime. At this price, I didn't expect them to, and even if they came apart a little, I could still use them. However, the replacements that I purchased a few weeks began falling apart immediately and are now unusable. The nose piece does not stay on and both temples are hanging on only by the internal wiring. Also, the intensity of the LED lamps is reduced from what it used to be, and they seem to be pointed in an odd direction. (I have to tilt the glasses to get the weak LEDs to point at what I'm trying to focus on.) I am online today to see what other manufacturers are offering that do the same thing -- because it's a great idea.

UPDATE: So, I bought these glasses in April and it is now December so that's 8 months. Sadly, the light goes out as soon as you move the arm to put them on. If I close the arm a little bit, the light comes back on, but, they won't fit on my head like that. It's like the arm is pinching a wire or something. This has actually been going on for a couple of months, but, I managed to wiggle them just right for a while and the light would stay on, but, now that doesn't work any more. Maybe that's the way of things these days--they last a few months and then they break and you have to buy new ones. I'll give them 3 stars because they were great while they lasted, but, I think I'll look around for some that'll last longer or just go back to the $2.00 ones that last forever and use my headlamp that has lasted for five or six years and will probably last longer than I will. INITIAL REVIEW: These things are amazing! When I first put them on, I actually got a little bit dizzy, but, as I got used to them, the dizziness cleared up and so did the tiny print I was looking at! The light works great and is really easy to turn off and on. I love it that they're rechargeable and I won't have to buy batteries to keep them working. I'm going to get another pair so my handsome honey can have his own and not have to share mine. It took awhile for them to finally get here, but, well worth it when they did!

If you are a hobbyist that deals with small parts you will be glad to have a pair of these. Great for sewing or reading as well.

Very disappointed (one star mean 0 of 10) 1- I paid for a Pack of two, but the box arrived with only one pair of magnifying glasses. 2- The eyeglasses arrived broken in bits and pieces although the box was in good condition.

My husband has some vision issues that can't be corrected with a different prescription lenses or surgery. He needs strong light and magnification and these inexpensive glasses provide both. Wearing these glasses over his prescription glasses allows him to read.

I tried this so called " Mighty Sight LED Magnifying Eyewear" and honestly did not meet my expectations. Products publicity on Amazon website and on T.V. commercial is highly exaggerated. PROS: Fits on prescription eyewear frame Magnifies the image and the reading text & fonts on the computer monitor screen. BUT My opinion since I wear bifocal. prescription eyewear CONS: Cannot be used whilst Driving Does not make the reading crystal clear, in fact with me it turns the reading fuzzy & blurry. Not recommended to watch T.V. with this eyewear, it creates headache and poor vision. Due to the contoured lenses, it creates panoramic effect. Therefore, walking around with Mighty sight eyewear restricts walking around. My experience may differ the opinion of other purchasers. Overall, personally I am extremely disappointed.
