The Sleeping Beauty (Everyman's Library Children's Classics Series) Hardcover – November 2, 1993

I love this addition to my library I highly recommend to anyone who has a library of classics.

I read the Kindle version of this story and i have to deduct one star for occasional weird formatting but otherwise it was a great read. It was funnier than I thought. The humor was witty and reminded me slightly of Diana Wynne Jones. Fairy tales often have a certain way about them and this is no different. I thought this story had a better effort than many others. It was also detailed and atmospheric. Highly recommend for light reading.

The inspiration that this Fairyland story brings, through the engaging artistic images and flow is not a fiction. The powers of Truth, Love and Virtue are real, even though often dormant within us. The books like this can ignite and awake them (not unlike Kundalini awakening in Yoga). Along with princess, the whole kingdom awakes, as the same deep spiritual process happens between the Spiritual Collective and Individual and most importantly, in the Awakening of the own Soul. The princess is our True Nature, the prince is an unbending Intent towards our highest ideal, something most beautiful and perfect we can imagine and strive upon, regardless of the thorns of lost values, disregard to the noble aspirations and "grow-up" cynicism.

The Sleeping Beauty is a classic fairytale, one everyone should read.There are some odd formatting errors in this edition though. There are headings stuck in random bits of the text, I think they might be the titles of missing illustrations? Also on some pages the text condenses into a single, narrow column for no apparent reason. But, hey, it was free...

I think that I would give this 3 stars because I didn't really care for the description of certain things. I think that other people really might enjoy this book. Everyone has different opinions. I think that 5-8 year olds might want to read it. 5-6 and maybe seven year olds might want their parents to read it to them. over all I think it was okay.

I grew up watching the Disney version of sleeping beauty as well as the canon version, which is still a favorite to this day, and it was interesting to read a copy of this story. The Canon version definitely matches it better than the Disney version.

This fairy tale, with a happy ending, inspired the Disney movie, titled "Sleeping Beauty." I also really enjoyed the ballet of the same name. In the Disney movie, the fairies were named Flora, Fauna and Merryweather. From them, she received the gifts of beauty and song. Just like in the original fairy tale, Aurora awoke from her sleep with True Love's Kiss.

I really enjoyed this book. It brought me back to when I was 5 years old. I hope you give this book a try. I know you'll love it!

Just to say that there are no illustrations in this edition - Rackham did illustrate the original book but they have not been transferred.

Excellent gift for my children. I buy them one every Christmas and they have a super collection now. Good service too.

A classic story that everyone should read. You think you remember it from your childhood but its a great recapture.

Time travels representing your passion of enjoyment prosperity and fulfilment of rejoys still with presence of personality and endeavours of humanity with forgoing situations which clarifies in the book so as I rated 4 star for it
