Best bargain in pocket folders. Awesome knife.
I have lots of Rough Ryder/Rough Rider knives. All are great, particularly the reserve line. However, this particular knife impresses me the most simply because it's easily the best cost/quality ratio of all the ones I've bought. For like $12 or $13, this knife is spectacular. Polished wooden handles, brass liners, and blade centered perfectly. I prefer kickbacks in work knives so this having a lock adds even more value. The blade is tight with no wobble and operates smoothly. The steel isn't great but its sharp out of the box and easy to keep sharp and nobody should expect miracle steel for a $13 knife. Awesome user knife. Really impressive.

Beautiful budget EDC for the average Joe
Great alternative to a Sodbuster Jr. Sure the steel is not 420HC (it's 440a) but just the fact that it has a backlock AND a lanyard hole, more than makes up for it. Mine came centered and sharp but with minimal gapping on the back between the liners and the woodscales, honestly nothing major (especially for the price). This Blackwood is an amazing deal for collectors and makes a great gift as someone's first knife or as an everyday carry knife for the average gentleman. I only took one star off because the grind on one side of the curved edge was a bit narrow, but nothing that can't be quickly fixed on a stone. Also, as Hank Hill once famously said: "I'm going to give you a four. That way it gives you something to work towards to". Ha Ha.

Cleans up absolutely gorgeous!
It's a kinda-sodbuster that's not too pricey to carry and use. As usual with Rough Ryder, you could use it right out of the box, but if you spend some time sanding and polishing, you end up with a knife that looks and feels way more expensive than it is. The brass fittings contrast perfectly with the dark, smooth wood.

Dull blade
It was a dull blade right off of the box. I returned it, i didnt want to mess it up by sharpening it myself.
