Great introduction to the script and basic vocabulary of this beautiful and not too complicated language. Even though the U.S.A. and Iran are enemies at this moment, it's still worthwhile and fun to study the melodic Persian language. And who knows, maybe things will change soon, and America and Iran will once again be on friendly terms with each other!

I'm not sure if it helps with verbal conversations but I needed help learning the alphabet and this has helped immensely with memorizing characters. They even provide pictures to help memorize the phonics. Also helpful with practicing the connection of characters.

Good learning book

I can speak and understand Farsi but I have never been able to read or write it. I can say this book is very good book for beginners you do not need to know any Farsi to begin. There are lots of examples and different ways to learn for different types of learners. I love that the answers and audio is separate allowing for the book to be lighter/accessible online. Being a new book I have noticed some errors and typos both in the book and online portion, however these are very few compared to the great amount of accurate and informative Farsi content. The book continuously tests you on information you have previously learned and it is easy to spot and correct your mistakes.

I can read and write better!

I grew up in the US listening to my parents speak Farsi but never learned to read or write. Found this book very useful to start learning to read and write. Loved the exercises, examples and on line audio that comes with it. The on line answer key is also helpful to double check answers. Would have given this a 5 except that the book has a few typo errors. Also, if you don’t plan to use the on line material I’d probably change my rating to a 3.

Book is interesting. Not sure I’m going to learn as I wanted as the approach is different from other language courses I have purchased but it is still interesting.

It is the best book to learn Farsi. I got it for my boyfriend, as he was into learning how to speak and write in Farsi.

You will learn alphabet and many words (almost no verbs). It's good for the alphabet only, but I recommend it if you just started.
