Eclipse Cello & Bass Tuner

You cannot place it close to the instrument, it HAS TO BE ON THE INSTRUMENT. CLIPPED ON. PHYSICAL CONTACT! I press the "on" and read my strings... very easy to use. I don't bother turning it off , it does that by itself. It is so small that I never take it off; it is always on my bridge. Despite the convenient small size, the Screen is Large and in Colour. It is Easy to read. I love it, it is just lovely!

Bright easy to read screen, and the scale is clearly graduated to allow precise tuning. It works better than the Fender and Boss units I’ve used in the past. Highly recommended

I play 5 string bass’s and always have problems with tuners picking up my low E and especially my low B string. This tuner made for bass’s really is made for bass’s !!! The tuner picked up all my strings quickly and accurately, even my low B string,,, wow 🤩 I’ve never had any clip-on tuner recognize my low B so fast and I’ve purchased countless other clip-on tuners over the years so I’m definitely very experienced with the clip-ones. The screen is bright, colorful and super easy to read. I’ll definitely be buying lots more of these for all my other bass’s. Cheers, Davyo

My wife plays the cello and I play the bass. She wanted an electronic tuner like the one I use. I had some complaints about the brand I was using and decided to find her a tuner that was simpler to use and had an auto off feature. Mine does not. I looked at a lot of tuners but settled on the D’Addario Eclipse. I’ve used D’Addario strings and have always been satisfied, I admit I was partially baiting based on my previous experience with the brand. When it arrive I gave it a thorough run through. I was happily satisfied with it. So much so that I think I’ll toss my old tuner and get one of these D’Addario Eclipses for myself. My wife, though very intelligent and talented in many areas, is not a tech or gadget person. She says she really likes how simple it is to use and her cello coach says my wife’s cello is always perfectly tuned. Job well done!

I'm a bass player, so keep that in mind. Clips on, and just works. That is, as long as you're not tuning too low or using a 5 string. It had trouble picking up the B string on my 5 string, and I noticed it just generally isn't super consistent with lower tunings in general. Will be perfect if you play a 4 string bass and don't go too low, but if you're wanting to plumb the depths of Gehenna with your low tunings, then I'd recommend investing in something like a tuner pedal.

Works, a bit slow but works.

This is really an excellent tuner in terms of its accuracy and range. I use it on my bass trombone. It is best used clipped to the slide crook (rather than, say, the bell). Given how I want to use it, the "automatic shut-off" feature is not a plus -- and I suspect it's been added because this tuner requires a standard CR2032 battery and is not rechargeable. So the tuner shuts off automatically after about 10 minutes -- meaning that you can't simply leave it on for an entire practice session and check when you need to ... but instead need to turn it back on every 10 minutes. A rechargeable version with at least the ability to disable the auto shut-off feature would be an improvement.

OK - this was dead cheap - a tenner or so. I've been getting really frustrated with by guitar clip-on tuner, as it never recognised the low E from my any of my basses, and even the A stings on one of the basses was a challenge. So - even though this is supposed to be for cello/double-bass (clipped to the bridge on those instruments) it works EXCEPTIONALLY well, clipped to the headstock of my electric bass. Best tuner I everbought!

Ich benutze seit Jahren verschiedene Versionen des PitchClip von Korg. Für die Stimmung von Kontrabass (PC 2 auch mit verschiedenen Kammertönen) sind sie nur eingeschränkt nutzbar. Der Stimmer von Daddario löst aber alle Probleme. Er ist zwar etwas weniger kompakt, dafür ist die Stimmgenauigkeit ausgezeichnet und er hat einen schnellen Zugriff auf die Kalibrierung: Für E-Bass und Kontrabass die perfekte Lösung.

Great tuner, works well

The tuner picks up bass frequencies quite well. Even in a noisy room. Regular tuners take time to pick up the lower notes, but not this one.
