YuanLey 8 Port PoE Switch with 2 Gigabit Uplink, 8 PoE+ Port 100Mbps, 120W 802.3af/at, Extend Function, Metal, Fanless, Unmanaged Plug and Play Network Switch

From the recommendations I saw in some forums and reddit groups - we purchased two of these to use with our Reolink camera system at a neighborhood pool. I mounted them on an inexpensive wall rack in the custodian's closet with the rest of the equipment, and they've worked flawlessly feeding our NVR with 14 POE cameras for almost two years now. This is an environment with wide temperature swings, with pool chemicals being used nearby - and they're working well. These were 100% plug and play for our application, with no setup required.

I used this to power some POE cameras that I picked up, and it did just what it says. Plugged it in, it powered on, and plugged in the cameras and uplink without any issue. I like that the box is metallic and that it comes with some mounting ears and screws so I can mount it flat on the wall. I haven't tried any of the VLAN stuff, or to extend it long distance as I simply don't need that in this situation. So far, I'd recommend this easily, especially at this price.

This has been a good PoE expansion switch for our CCTV installations. It's affordable, and offers GBe connectivity for the uplink and NVR connectivity. It's a perfect fit as the brackets included make it easy to mount on a wall, and since the cameras we use only use 100mbe, it works in that situation. I would not use this for WAPs or high bandwidth applications. Our 8MP cameras only use about 8-10MBps of bandwidth, so having a 1gbps connection to the NVR means it doesn't reach anywhere near the bandwidth capacity. If you're doing a simple installation without the need of managed switches nor cameras / network equipment requiring above 100mbps connectivity, this has shown to work great. We have installed 20 units so far without any issues.

This appears to be a nice 120W 8+2 port POE+ switch with nice features, but once I started plugging things in, there were unexpected problems. If you plan to use this device to its max capacity, you might want to consider something else. Seller's support was very prompt, but basically unhelpful, which is why I don't know if my unit is defective. FIRST TRY: I plugged in an at (30W max) POE+ device followed by 3 af (15W max) POE devices for a total maximum usage of 75W (my power meter said it was only using 16W total, but the meter may not be accurate at such low wattage). These devices (all cameras) worked as expected for several days. Then I tried to plug in an af POE clock, but while the clock initially powered up, it almost immediately powered down and started power cycling about every second.. It never made a network connection. Since I had two clocks I tried the other, with the same result. I contacted the seller and while waiting for a reply, I tested two of the POE clock on two other POE switches. The clocks worked as expected, even when both connected to the same switch. TRY TWO: After receiving a reply from the seller asking for more information, I tried this with the switch in question-: 1. Connect only the af clock (now worked well). Then connect the other devices: at, af, af, af. All worked as expected. Apparently the switch is sensitive to the order of connection. THIS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN. The switch has 3 spare ports, but I don't know if I can ever use them. I sent more details to the seller, and received a prompt reply which wasn't very helpful. RECOMMENDATION: If you want to buy this switch for its nice features, load it up when you first get it, so that you can return it if it fails to meet specs. Or better yet, buy something else, and fully test it as well. I am keeping this switch because it does what I want for now, and its size and price makes it better than the others I could find. I might regret this choice later. UPDATE: After further correspondence with the seller, they offered a refund. I declined, because although the unit doesn't seem to work right, it works well enough for my present needs, and finding a better unit might be tedious. They gave me a refund of 25% of the cost of the unit, which seemed fair under the circumstances. I added one star to the rating in recognition of the refund. I would have rated it 5 stars if it had worked as advertised.

My home has Ethernet ports installed throughout the house. For the first couple years I didn't know how to get them working for how valuable they be when you work from home. Aunt darn near every device in the house works on Wi-Fi and internet. At some point we had a cable technician come in to upgrade our internet service and router and he pointed out that we would get much better internet if we put some of our smart home devices into the ethernet ports and he suggested getting an ethernet switch. He explained how to use it and where to plug it in and it's been love ever since.

Sounds like all the 1 star reviews even had a better experience than i did. put it up, plugged in the cables, everytihng ran perfectly for 2 weeks. 1 by 1 ports started to drop. then more we were losing ports every 5 minutes. Worthless. I bought a $700 managed switch. no more screwing around.

Installé pour gérer le réseau d'une petite association. Installation sans problème. Bon rapport qualité prix. Box internet connectée à un des deux ports rapide. Tout fonctionne nickel.

Aucun souci pour l'allumer, distribue la puissance POE comme demandé, ne chauffe pas. Manque juste un bouton on-off pour l'allumage.

Ottimo prodotto e ottimo prezzo per questo switch gigabyte che permette anche di avere il Power over Ethernet. Purtroppo l’antenna della Ubiquity sembra non funzionare con il POE e di questo switch, temo però che sia un problema della Ubiquity che ha un sistema particolare perché al contrario, altre antenne della Cisco, funzionano correttamente. Non è uno switch gestito, quindi non si dispone di una interfaccia di controllo per poter gestire le varie porte o altre caratteristiche, ma per un uso domestico è più che sufficiente. L’unico rammarico, è che nella confezione ci sono delle staffe per poterlo inserire all’interno di un rack molto piccolo ma avendo invece a disposizione un rack da 19, non forniscono delle staffe adeguate, dovrò crearmele in autonomia. Nel complesso sono molto soddisfatto dell’acquisto
