Paper is substantial enough for placing tabs. The size is perfect for taking with you, and the cover is sturdy. I bought this to replace my over 30 year old NIV study bible and I have no regrets. Review: Highly recommend - I needed a bible with larger print, and this one is the perfect size. Easier to read and has the red lettering. I noticed some reviews mentioned the pages were not cut properly and folded, but mine was formatted right and cut correctly. It has a nice cover and a quality bible.
