one of my all-time favorite books
Beyah has been dealt a crappy hand in life. Her mother is an addict and Beyah has had to fend for herself since she was little. When Beyah's mother dies, she is left with no alternative but to stay with her estranged father for two months until she leaves for college. When Beyah arrives at her father's place, she is thrown into a foreign life of luxury and leisure. She begins to spend time with Samson, the neighbor, and although she has no interest in a summer fling with a rich guy, she ends up falling for him. This book spoke to me on so many levels. As someone who grew up in a family with financial struggles, I was astonished and amazed by Colleen Hoover's ability to capture the complexes and experiences of someone who is poor so genuinely and eloquently. Many of Beyah's thoughts and how she related to others who have money resonated with me. I loved the journey that Beyah took in this book. She started off as having come from a small town and only knowing poverty. She made a lot of assumptions and judgements about people with money and she didn't realize how harmful this was in her being able to build connections with her father, step-mother, and step-sister. As she got to know them, she began to see that maybe she was too quick to judge people in the same way she didn't want to be judged.Beyah's loneliness was palpable. She built high walls around herself because she had been in survival mode most of her life. Beyah was used to hiding herself from others, lying and keeping secrets and she had no one in her corner, cheering her on. Being able to open up to Samson gave her a freedom from that loneliness.Samson and Beyah had an interesting first encounter that tore at my heart. I knew from that first meeting that their connection was going to grow fast and deep. Although they didn't know each other for that long, they were more real with each other than they had been with anyone else.As I re-read this book via audio, I noticed things that I hadn't the first time around and it made me appreciate the book even more. Knowing the ending, I was able to catch even more layers of nuances to the story. This is one of my all-time favorite books and it is a must-read! It's an engrossing and heart-wrenching story that lives rent-free in my mind.Steam level: 🔥🔥½⚠️: addiction, overdose, death of a parent, sexual assault, mention of drowning, racism

BEST BOOK EVER
Oh my goodness. Words can’t describe how good this book was. I absolutely loved this story. It was gut wrenching to see the description of how bad Beyah had it growing up. Then when her mother dies of an overdose, she moves to Texas with her father, where she meets the “rich” neighbor, Samson. They form a bond. He gets her better than anyone else has ever before. He is very evasive though, and will not answer a lot of her questions. When they finally make love, she is awoken to him being arrested and finding out he is not at all who he has claimed to be. He was not rich, he had been breaking and entering into houses because he had nowhere to go because his mom died when he was 5 and his dad died in Hurricane Ike. However, the houses he “broke” into, he always made repairs to the house as a way of a payment for staying there. He goes to jail. Beyah goes to college and decides to become a lawyer based on the unfair treatment Samson gets while in prison. When he finally is released from prison, she meets him there and he is so surprised to see her. They kiss and make up as if no time has been lost. Come to find out, Marjorie, one of the women he fixed stuff for on her houses, had died and left him her house. This book was just UNBELIEVABLE AND I WILL NEVER BE OVER IT!!!

Give Into Your Heart
Midway through I realized that I was going to love this book and it would likely break your heart. Having just finished It sends With Us, I don’t know if I was ready for another commentary on the plight of the unseen in our society. Yet it popped up in my feed and I was hooked. I knew from Beyah might break my heart with all her strength and pain and determination and loneliness. I just didn’t know how much.Beyah finally has an option yet she’s too guarded and scarred to see the incredible door that has been opened. She is wary of everything and everyone even her eternally good nature stepsister or her loving yet bewildered father. She meets Sampson who has more secrets than Beyah and she knows that he too is damaged.Their summer love story is filled with the hope of summer, the ache of knowing fall is around the corner, and the weight of decision that seem monumental.Hoover is good at an ending. She gives us a twist but also gives us a resolution. She gives us hope like a trusting puppy who knows she’ll be back to home base even if you’re a little banged up getting there.

Heart Bones
I highly recommend this book I have read a few of Colleen Hoover's books and this one is the second best one of hers I have read. The beat so far is Perfect Marriage I actually would have rated that one a seven or eight stars if I could as I state in my ratings comment. That being said I hope you give this author a chance . her books ate so intense you really feel like you know the characters. You will be glad you did.

Tear Jerker
It started in the beginning of the book. I would find my eyes wet with each chapter I read. Beyha. Oh what can I say but, Beyha. She’s the type of character you wish you could just jump into the book and save. There were A LOT of kissing scenes, but it’s young love. There’s a lot of kissing in young love, so I can’t fault the book for that. I don’t want to give too much away, but I can definitely say this was a great read! It’s the kind of read that makes me want to be a better person when I’m done with it.I know it’s a work of fiction but sometimes life should imitate fiction more often then it already does.

Intenso e maravilhoso
Escolhi um dia livre pra ler por que sabia que seria uma leitura intensa, pq os livros da Colleen são assim, INTENSOS. É uma história por muitas vezes triste, mas que mostra também quantas coisas boas também podem acontecer à medida que permitimos. Eu amei a Beah e amei o Samsom. Teve risada e teve choro. Também teve muita reflexão e contemplação lendo esse livro. É uma história linda. E eu, como sempre, vivo recomendando a leitura de CoHo ❤️

Absolutely fantastic,
WOW! WOW! WOW!I can't believe this is the first book that I've read by this author, jezz I think I must have been living on the moon. This book is absolutely freaking fantastic and I couldn't put it down at all and it deserves 10 thousand stars. I was hooked right from the first chapter and the title is just perfection too. This is Beyah and Samson's story. Two people that have had such a crappy upbringing and a really tough start in life are completely drawn to each other and my heart bone totally breaks in half for both of them. They have both always done what they could to survive and when Beyah goes through another traumatic time she goes to stay with her father for the summer and this is when they both meet for the first time. This book will really have your emotions all over the place and you will really feel every single word on the page. The love that these two have is so pure, so real and so raw and is powerful enough to carry them both through. I loved the characters and the way that this author has written them, the reader can really connect with them and the story line flows throughout so great that I couldn't get enough of it. This book is one of the most raw and beautifully written stories that I have ever read. I really enjoyed reading this book and I can't wait to read more from this author in the future and I will definitely recommend this book to everyone.

Truth trust and Lies
I have just finished this absolutely wonderful novel. It is full of such raw emotion. The two characters are such true soul mates, with a lot in common but don’t really learn the truth until tragedy strikes again. Bayeh has an awful childhood and an uncaring addict for a mother , who soul purpose in life is to shoot stuff up her arm and leave her daughter whatever age to fend for herself. Her mother uses what little money she can get to achieve this aim. Beyah and she live in a crumbling trailer on a disgustingly poor site. On returning home from work Beyah discovers her mother lifeless on the couch. The story takes a twist and Beyah finish up at her fathers house in Texas. Whist travelling there on a ferry to the peninsula she encounters Samson, a wealthy lad who witnessed her eating found bread meant for the birds. The two start a conversation but Beyah jumps to all the wrong conclusion. Anymore about the storyline would spoil it for the reader, and I hope I have not given away to much already. There is all you can want in a spell binding, time absorbing story and more. It is so good by a fantastic author that 5 stars are no where near enough. It is so well written, flows well, is so descriptive that you can hear the fire crackle, and feel the heat. All of Colleen’s books are rewarding and this is no exception.

Heart Bones
Heart Bones is the latest offering from @colleenhoover. This author is an absolute must read for us so I had it on pre-order for release day, and started it straight away! This story follows our two main characters who have seemingly very different backgrounds. As the story follows their summer break more of their similarities are revealed. As always I found myself enjoying Colleen’s writing and characters. I found Beyah’s story heartbreaking and found myself struggling to trust Samson and his intentions in the beginning. A lot of his story is revealed later in the story and I feel like I rushed through from that point until the end. Throughout Beyah’s difficult upbringing and struggle with emotional connection is slowly impacted upon as she learns how it feels to have a friendship group and be a part of her family. Almost always I find myself in tears while reading one of Colleen’s books and this was no different. Immediately after finishing this I had such an urge to re-read Ugly Love. If you’re a fan of Colleen’s It Ends With Us you’ll enjoy this latest book.
