Permatex 81158 Black Silicone Adhesive Sealant, 3 oz. Tube, Pack of 1

This is my goto product for installing carbon fiber spoilers, wings or other performance accessories. I add it to the bottom a spoiler in addition to the double face tape. It’s not over kill and will confidently adhere a performance part that may be under stress like a wing or function spoiler. It will fill in any spaces or gaps between parts leaving a perfect custom look. Easy clean up as well. It also works around GPS shark-fin antennas to seal out any water intrusion. Ie BMW shark fins on roof.

I have to give this one a little more credit then it should. I was in a hurry to attach a "back plate" from the front of my 2020 GMC Yukon Denali because I was replacing it with a LED illuminated one which is flat. Problem was the emblem is what holds the "back plate" on, no glue, just 5 clips. The LED emblem has no clips. So I needed something fast, 2 hour delivery. I admit I bought in haste and realized later that this particular "Adhesive" isn't the strongest for the task, well, after all said and done and a full week of curing it was time for the test. Yes, I went through the carwash. Keep in mind the back plate is about an inch or so thick, but what actually touches the grill is the outline of the back plat design for the emblem leaving less then 1/8 of an inch edge at best. It was pain staking to put only just enough all the way around the whole back plate without putting too much on. After the carwash I was extremely nervous when the big rotating front brush came down and scrubbed the front, i was praying the whole time. As soon as i got out of the wash, i jumped out to see if there was either nothing there, or possibly maybe a broken emblem hanging. Well, not only was it in tact, I pulled on it with both hands with just enough force as to not try to break the bond, but see if it still had held on firmly, and it most certainly did.. I seriously have to say this stuff is amazing.

2014 tesla model s Sunroof guide arms broke(sheared) off finally. Not sure if this was original but Tesla stopped putting opening sunroofs on its cars at least partly because of this issue. So, I cleared the sunroof drains, closed it up, pulled the fuse and used this great product to make a permanent OEM looking seal around it to prevent water intrusion.

I used this to seal a few spots on the outside of my RV, and it worked great. It was easy to apply, spread nicely, and created a solid seal. The black color also blends in well with the exterior. A useful product to have on hand for RV maintenance and small sealing jobs.

The tube is a manageable size for a small repair. I squeezed out a narrow bead around the edge, nudged the grommet into place, and left it alone overnight. The black color blends in with the desk hardware, so the touch-up doesn’t draw my eye every time I sit down. I’m glad I bought it because the next morning I could move my monitor cables without the grommet slipping around. The nozzle takes a little care if you want a neat line, so I went slowly and kept a paper towel nearby. I also used less than I expected for this little job. The cap is handy for saving the rest for another repair, though I’d check that it seals snugly before putting the tube away.

This was fantastic. I fixed my own shark fin on the top of my car. Being black it all looks natural. Fin is staying on and pat myself on my back.
