Planet Waves PW-AMSGRA-15 American Stage Instrument Cable

Great quality cable for a good price. Ive had zero issues with it. My bass sounds as good as always. The ends of the cable are properly reinforced and good for my home studio. These seem gig worthy as well.

I purchased this cable as a replacement for an older cable. The Planet Waves American Stage cable is well made and sounds great!

Very well built. I've been using this model since years now and never had any issues.

Product came with one cable end arranged at a right angle (90 degrees) orientation while the opposite end of the cable was COMPLETELY straight, with no perpendicularity. This is exactly what I expected because the ad had described and pictured a product of that profile. 5 stars would recommend.

Never, in my 16 years of playing guitar, have I opened a 1/4" cable and had it not work straight out of the packaging. As soon as I plugged mine in, I was getting less than half the signal through the cable I should have. It sounded like my guitar's volume was rolled nearly all the way down. I removed the sleeve on the angled end, wiggled the cable, and listened to it crackle and pop, with the full signal cutting in and out. I took a pair of pliers and tried to adjust the internal wiring, and found that the outer shielding was touching the inner lead through the plastic, causing a short. I attempted to repair that by pulling the shielding away. It helped, but, if I wiggled the cable or twisted it the wrong way, the sound would cut back out again at a point an inch behind the solders within the wire itself. The break in the wire was, clearly, in the part of the wire that was protected by the metal and plastic sheathing that screws over the connector end. This means that the cable likely wasn't even tested before it was shipped for someone to purchase. Nobody should ever have to do this with a brand new cable, especially. This is unacceptable for a premium-priced guitar cable. It's also unacceptable from a brand such as D'Addario. I've had better experiences with $10 generic cables over all these years. I saw the many DOA reviews here and told myself, "Ah, it must be a small minority," and ordered it anyway. That was a mistake. These cables belong in the trash. Very disappointed. Buy the Ernie Ball cable instead.

Thought I would spend some money on a good cable. Good while it lasted. The straight end suddenly creates a major zap if you wiggle it a bit - in any amp or guitar. I have had cables last for decades - see no reason for this one to have died.
