I bought this for a trip but I would recommend as a full time baby monitor. The picture quality is great during the day or at night. It was very easy to set up, turn it on and its functioning. No wifi which I love. VTech produces a great quality product. Basic features with accurate ambient temperature. The portable monitor portion holds its battery life for a while.

This VTech baby monitor has been a great purchase. The video quality is clear, the sound is reliable, and the connection stays stable throughout the house. It was easy to set up, and the battery life is good. It gives me peace of mind knowing I can always keep an eye on my child. I highly recommend it to any parent looking for a dependable baby monitor.

Had to replace the first one because our oldest threw it against a wall and broke the screen. So got another. Monitor works great. Tells temperature can talk thru it. Has to be far from the crib to get a full shot of the crib. Battery last all day on a full charge. Gets really good distance as well. Video quality is good as well

Lighting and picture is nice, super easy to use and worked right out of the box. The video looks zoomed in but it’s not, and you can’t zoom out which limits where you can place the camera. Like, 7ft above the crib isn’t far enough. May be better for a large room instead of a crib. Lots of connectivity trouble even when the monitor and camera are in the same room. Overall I think it’s great value but not recommended for small spaces, going to return for something different.

These monitors are my favorite. As a stay-at-home mom of 3 with one on the way, I like everything about these. I've purchased 3 of them, and my oldest finally went out (after 3 years of use, including being unplugged overnight, going with us on multiple trips, and being used for multiple naps a day - it was in my nursery). Of course I wish it had lasted longer, but I am satisfied with that longevity. Essential features in a baby monitor, in my mind, include... -the ability to mute (I can't believe they make monitors that don't - trust me, you want to mute it even if it is just for the minute the baby is crying while you are going to get them, if not, say, long enough to go to the bathroom first, etc.) -sound up and down - I am a light sleeper, I need it very quiet, and I can still hear even our white noise through the monitor, but I like to turn it up when, say, taking a shower or watching tv -a video screen (my babies are quiet when they wake up, I like to see if their eyes are open, and I like to know if something happened, like a foot caught in the crib wall, that requires my attention) -a good long charge - these last well over 12 hours (I run sound only for most of that time, no screen), though they take a bit to charge up after, often longer than the hour or two before the first nap, but catch up later in the day -a reliable charger, preferably not a usb one, those seem to break easily -decent range. Mine can reach a few houses away, especially if a house itself is not in the way. I can easily take it down the street to check my mailbox and stay to chat with a neighbor while knowing the baby is still sleeping soundly. I cannot leave the neighborhood, which is not a bad thing. -not terribly expensive -personally, I like the walkie-talkie option, I use it to talk to my toddlers sometimes, saying such things as, "Ok, it is time to lay down and sleep now" or "I am coming up to get you now, please wait patiently" This monitor has all of these features, plus more, like music (including different sound options, all of which last for 30 minutes, and continue with the parent monitor muted so you don't have to listen to it), temperature warnings (good to know if the heat/cool in baby's room goes out), and temperature on the screen. I personally appreciate that this is a closed camera, no video is being tracked or able to be hacked. The one thing I remember wishing for when I first got this monitor was a clip, to hook into a belt loop or something. My previous monitor had that feature and I liked being able to bring the monitor with me into different rooms without having to think about it. Perhaps it would be nice to have a battery in the camera, so you aren't woken up for any power outages, but I haven't minded that too much, power outages wake me up indefinitely anyway. If you are looking for a monitor, I highly recommend this one. After 3 kids and 3 different monitors tried, this is the only one I own now.

This is a great baby monitor that does not need to connect to wifi! It is super easy to use and the monitor has a good battery life on it. I use this when traveling and for the price, it really is a great product! I have yet to have any problems with it! While I do love it, I am not sure I would make this my primary monitor (personally) I feel the wire that connects to the monitor is quite short and getting the best angle would be a little difficult for full-time use. The picture is too zoomed in for me and I prefer to see the whole body. None-the-less, the picture quality is great and audio works well for a great price, I wont leave out of town without this.

This product is incredible, my baby is 11 months old now and we have been using it every single day for 11 months with no decline in its abilities. We use it every single night, and during the day for our baby’s naps. We have never had any connection issues, it is not connected to the Wi-Fi so it can always work. The battery life is still incredible, I don’t think I’ve ever lost battery even when I accidentally leave it on all day. I keep it plugged in all night too. I like the small screen, you can fit it in your pocket and even go garden outside with it, and the connection still stays. I think the only negative I have found is that if the power goes out it doesn’t work. Because the physical camera needs to be plugged in. So unless you’re in an area that gets power outages all the time, I highly recommend this product. We bought a second one just to throw in our diaper bag, so that when we visit family or go out of town, we just have a second one ready to set up in any room at all times. As for the image quality, I find it perfectly fine. If you are an insanely anxious parent and need to be able to see the physical air come in and out of your baby’s nostrils, it probably is not high-quality enough for you. I could usually see my baby breathing if I looked long/hard enough. But mainly it’s just good at seeing how your baby is shifting around, and the microphone is incredibly good so you can absolutely hear when the baby is crying or rustling around. It definitely has night vision, I can totally see my baby at night in the dark. I do wish I could switch between night and day vision sometimes, because every so often (usually in the pack n play with the White mesh) it gets confused and switches it to the wrong setting and then I have trouble seeing my baby.

Absolutely love this little camera, but things keep ceasing to function at only two months of regular use!! The battery drains much faster than advertised, and even on sound only mode, it needs to be charged every 12 hours. I tried to work around this issue by utilizing the volume and LED indicator for noise level, but now the LED also stopped working. One day it lit up green and wouldn't turn off, then I rebooted the device and it never turned on again. I'm very concerned that more features will continue to break. Returning this unit to see if it was just defective though, because it really is a nice monitor and I hope the next one doesn't stop functioning!

We have had this monitor for over two years now and have nothing but great things to say. We own a 10 acre acreage and this monitor stays connected anywhere on the property. We keep the monitor plugged in while not in use and have had no trouble with battery life. I can not recommend this monitor enough if you live in the country or like to go camping!

Estoy muy contenta con ésta camara, es justo lo que necesitaba. Es muy práctica y fácil de conectar, me la llevo a todas partes! Le dura muchísimo la pila al monitor. Y tiene buen alcance, la pantalla está pequeña pero es suficiente, tiene muy buen audio. Es funcional. Antes tenía una de la misma marca, pero de wifi y QUÉ HORROR, era muy complicado conectarla, no le duraba nada la pila, nunca podía conectarla en otra parte que no fuera al wifi de mi casa. Asi que MIL VECES MEJOR una cámara que no requiera wifi.
