7-Port Powered USB Hub, Aluminum USB 3.0 Data Hub, RSH-A37S

This is my second USB-HUB by 'Rosonway'. I bought the first one (which has 7 USB inputs) about 3 years ago. There is nothing wrong with it and still works great until this very day but I wanted to upgrade to the 10 slot model. I use the USB-HUB constantly and the more USB slots , the better. Plus I caught it during a Black Friday sale and saved a few bucks. I used to buy the regular and much cheaper USB-HUBs that didn't require its own power source ,and guess what? I went through about 4 & eventually they all crapped out on me , sometimes as soon as 4 months later ,plus weren't very reliable. That's why I decided to buy one which doesn't draw its power from your computer's PSU , but the electrical outlet directly. They are way more reliable and like I said , the one I just replaced , is over 3 years old & still works like a charm. Great transfer speeds and no sudden "issues" - aka breaking down. Do yourself a favor and if you're looking for a USB-HUB , AVOID the cheap ones ($4.99 , $.6.99 etc.) which draw power directly from your PC. They are crap and personal experience always trumps a review on some 'tech website' somewhere. Highly recommend it. Especially the 'Rosonway' brand.

I have two of these I've been using for over a year with no issues I have all 10 ports with something plugged in. The external power supply allows you to use multiple drives without issue. I have not done a speed test but I have not seen any speed issues with external drives and I have very large files at times. I plug the unit into a USB-C connector on the computer and it easily sees all 10 devices. I use software to map 6 dongles plugged into the drive that allow me to access the dongle on any of my computers on my home network. I would purchase this again! Update 5/26: After 2 1/2 years of continuous usage the power supply failed. I had 5 dongles and 5 external drives connected to the hub. Failure began with random disconnects of individual external drives that would reconnect. If I unplugged the power supply it would work normally for a day or 2 and then start disconnection 1-5 of the external drives. I took the power supply from a second 10 port hub and plugged it in place of the existing power supply. So far, no issues. If you start to have issues with random disconnects, check the power supply.

This thing saved me. I simply ran out of USB ports on the back of my computer and also wanted to clean up the appearance of my computer space. Utilizing the extra ports on my monitors simply wasn't pretty. Everyone likes to hide the cords, right? It doesn't help that some Corsair products have very thick USB cables that are difficult to plug in beside each other (keyboard in particular). I used some heavy duty double sided tape to attach this hub to the back of my desk and have so far plugged 7 different cords and dongles into it. Tadaa! I don't even need to have the USB on my monitors powered anymore, so that actually allowed me to put some cords away for good. Everything looks so much cleaner with all the cables tucked way down behind my desk. Everything works as you'd expect, just like plugging it into the back of your computer. I didn't have to make any adjustments. The hub shuts off by default when the computer shuts off, so all your little led lights and such don't stay on all the time. It's great for any device that doesn't require power 24/7. If you have an external drive that you want to keep running, perhaps you can play with some settings (BIOS?) or just plug it in elsewhere. Speaking of LED lights, the blue lights on this are not too bright. This is good in my opinion. I don't want bright blue lights lighting up the room or clashing with the custom ARGB lighting of my computer. So, thank you for keeping it subtle. This hub does exactly what it needs to. It's perfect in my opinion. Buy it. Also do what I did and get some quality double sided tape to keep it secure (and hidden).

I purchased the 13 port USB 3.1 Hub to connect my Flight Sim rig peripherals together. I am using all 13 ports (Joystick, Throttle, Rudder Pedals, Eye Tracker, StreamDeck XL, 3x 1024x768@60hz inch USB displays, 3x MFD button boxes, 2x Control Panel) and it works flawlessly. It is very convenient to plug in and remove from my main PC without needing to run multiple wires across my room. I have been using the USB hub for a couple of months and I have not had any issues with disconnection. The buttons to control individual USB ports work well and I appreciate the indicator light which letsy ou know if it is on/off. I also purchased a seperate extension cable to connect it to my PC (about a 10 foot cable) and it works great. There are two areas for further improvement of the product. The first, and perhaps most concerning, is that it is possible to plug a USB device into the socket backwards with only a little more force than you would use to plug it in correctly. It would benefit from having a slight adjustment to the design to prevent this from happening. The second issue is it gets *hot.* It would not burn you or cause any risk for fire, but I was suprised at how warm the USB housing gets. I suspect this is why it is made of aluminum - to assist with cooling. I would make sure you do not use it in an enclosed space and that it has room for air to flow around it. In summary I am very satisfied with this purchase and would purchase it again. I would like to see the 16 port become available in USB 3.1 in case I add a few more peripherals. As is, this suits my needs for now, and it works great.

Full Disclosure: I am reviewing this product at the request of the manufacturer. While some may conclude this will be biased, I hope that you would not skip over it as I strive to give an honest, biased-free evaluation of every product I review; even if this means the manufacturer will not be happy with the final conclusions. Needing a new USB hub, I was anxious to actually give this one a try. I was initially drawn to it for two reasons, most importantly it is powered, meaning that all of my connected devices will have more than enough power to run efficiently (more on that later). The other part that drew me to this hub is how it was built. The aluminum construction makes for a much more substantial unit than the others that are mostly plastic. The cost does give me a little pause, but it is not the most expensive powered USB hub on the market, and if I had just chosen a unit like this instead of the other USB hubs over the years, it would have actually been less than all of the others combined. I also don’t mind spending a little extra on a product if it is a quality item. Upon receiving the hub in the mail, I will be honest and say that I was not overwhelmed by the outside packaging. It’s a printed sleeve over a plain cardboard box. However, I noticed immediately upon opening the box that was going to be a different experience than the other USB hubs I have used over the years. The hub was sealed inside a tight-fitting plastic bag, and the connection cables and power supply were in their own compartment. Presentation of a product adds value for me, as it shows a company actually cares about their own product. While the outer packaging could be improved from my perspective, the way the product is packaged cannot be criticized in my opinion. Once I had the hub out of the plastic, I was impressed with the build-quality. It has a nice weight and the build finish is exceptional. There are no jagged edges, and everything fits together tightly. The aluminum body definitely set this apart from the other USB hubs that I have used that are plastic. This is a really nice looking, solidly constructed unit. It comes with two different USB cables to connect to your computer, a type-A cable and a type-C cable, which is nice to have the option of choosing which connection type is used. Hooking this up to my PC was straight forward and did not require any drivers to be installed. Once I had the hub connected, it was time to see how it performed. As a graphic designer and aspiring content creator, I really like the option of being able to turn ports on or off at the touch of a button, as it gives me greater control over what is actually connected to my PC at any given time. The indicator light when a port is turned on is not obtrusive, either. It’s a very soft, blue light. I know the port is on, but the light doesn’t distract me. The feel of turning a port on or off is not cheap, either. The buttons are well constructed, and have nice tension to the springs. The performance of the hub has been everything I had hoped it would be, and more. The transfer speeds from USB thumb drives is fast and responsive. The transfer speed from my multi-card reader is just as good. Being able to just turn off the port when ejecting the drive from my PC is a feature I enjoy more for convenience than anything else. The one area of performance that surprised me is when I moved my microphone from the back of my PC to the hub it removed the hum from my recordings. I was able to get my microphone off of my PC and away from the interference of all the components; and being powered, I know it is getting more than enough electricity to record at an optimal level. To further test this hub, I decided to insert 4 data storage devices (3 USB thumb drives and 1 compact flash digital camera card) and transfer data to and from the devices while also recording audio to see if heavier use would affect the performance. I transferred large files from two of the devices, while transferring large files to the other two. The data transfer speeds remained stable and consistent. The audio quality of the recording remained consistent as well, with no obvious hint of when the data transfers started or finished. For my usage needs, I can comfortably say that this hub will handle everything I will throw at it with ease. I have yet to come across many instances where I said to myself that I wish this hub would do “X” and/or “Y”. Thus far it has matched all of my expectations. The footprint of the device I find to be just right given the number of offered slots. I did not have any issue finding an adequate spot on my desk, as it did not take up too much space. I also really liked that it is a top-loading device. I have used some “low-profile” hubs that were side loading that created some awkward issues connecting all my devices. I have only been using this hub for about two weeks as of the posting of this review, so I cannot say as of right now how durable it is. However, based on the quality of construction, I would expect this product to hold up. If there is any change, I will come back and edit this review. I also cannot comment on the customer service of the company since I have yet to have to contact them with any product issues. With that said, this hub comes with an 18-month warranty, which can be extended by an additional 6 months if registered. A two year warranty, with lifetime technical support, gives me a level of comfort that this product is built to hold up over time, and if it does not, RSH Tech will stand behind their products and make good by resolving any problems. As I had stated above, I have not come across many issues that I wish this hub would address. However, if there was one thing that I wish it had that it does not, it would be that it had a couple Type-C ports. I wouldn’t have minded losing 2 or 3 type-A ports for two or three Type-C versions, especially since this comes with a Type-C connection cable. That being said, this would not have been a deal breaker for me, as I currently don’t have many devices that use the Type-C connection. This would have only been for “future proofing” my current setup. I read through some questions that were asked about this product, and I thought I would take a moment and answer a few of them here in this review. One question was if this powered hub could be mounted. A response was given that while it could not, it had non-slip rubber feet that would provide more than adequate grip to keep the device in place. My desktop is tempered glass, and while I can move the device, I would rate the answer given as accurate. It does not slide easily. Another question was if the device ran hot. Through my testing, the hub remained cool to the touch, even at the point of contact for the power cord. I would say the answer given that it does not run hot is accurate. One question that was not asked, but I have seen asked about other powered hubs is if it can be used without the power cord. Through my testing, none of my devices would work without the device being powered. I don’t see this as an issue, however, since this device is a powered hub, and don’t see many reasons it would be used without the power cable. In one review, there was a negative comment about the power buttons for the slots being too easy to hit and turn on/off. I cannot answer as to how they had things setup, however, in my own environment here I find it completely the opposite. The buttons are not easy to trigger in most instances. Maybe if the hub was right next to my hand while using my mouse it could potentially be an issue. This would be more an issue with device placement, though, than device function, in my opinion. Overall conclusion: Performance of this hub is excellent, being able to multi-task without any degradation of speed. The ability to turn on and off the slots is also a bonus, as it gives added control over connected devices. The build quality is fantastic. The aluminum construction feels very solid, and is on par with most high-end devices. The performance of this hub combined with the build quality, I would, and will, recommend this product to friends and family.

As an IT consultant and technician, I have needed, used and recommended a number of USB hubs in the past, both passive and powered. This one impressed me right out of the box. It comes with both USB Type A and Type C cables along with the power supply. It is well-packaged and protected. And, aesthetically, it looks really nice. But what stood out was the heft of the unit - it's solidly built with an aluminum case that will withstand heavy use. This is not some cheap, plastic hub whose case will eventually crack or fail. Each port can be individually activated, a real boon when you want to turn off a connected peripheral without having to yank it out of its port. Every activated port is also lit with a blue light that is substantial without being overly bright and bothersome. Performance-wise, it worked as advertised. I tested it on both PCs and Macs, desktops and laptops using both USB-A and USB-C connections. No issues whatsoever. Be aware - it is a powered USB-hub and will not function without the power supply, something I sheepishly realized when I first connected it and nothing was recognized. I know "5-star" reviews can be misleading but frankly, I don't know how I could fairly rate this any less. Excellence should be rewarded. Will post again in a few months if anything changes.

Worked for about a week. Then it started randomly dropping devices. After less than a month, it can only read from plugged in hard drives. If I try to write anything to any attached drive, it loses connection with the drive. I've tried my old USB 3.0 hub plugged into the same ports and the same hard drives write just fine. It's clear that this device is incapable of long use. I do NOT recommend it unless you're only plugging in low demand devices like a keyboard or mouse. Since I bought it Prime less than a month ago, it's going back when my new hub arrives on Thursday.

I previously had a USB port hub but not only was it giving me issues when I tried connecting certain devices but I needed more ports (it only came with four). This was a big improvement as it comes with seven ports with buttons that allow you to turn them on or off individually. It's also has a good sturdiness which keeps it stable on my desk and it was simple to use from the start. Once you set up, you barely have to worry about it moving forward. And the best part is my devices seem to connect to my computer faster than before! It's also if I plugged it in directly rather than through a port hub which I felt deserved a five star rating. I will say it did act a little funny while I typed this review (flashdrive kept disconnecting and reconnecting) but it subsided hopefully for good. It's close to thirty bucks but what it's worth, I'm not having any issues and it's incredibly smooth and reliable so it may just be worth the money since it includes peace of mind as well. All in all, a solid product that I recommend if you had similar issues with a previous hub or if you simply need some USB ports for your devices.

I picked up the Rosonway 10 Port USB 3.1/3.2 Powered USB Hub for my gaming laptop, mainly to connect all my flight sim peripherals and a bunch of SSD drives. It’s been a huge help in managing everything without slowing down my laptop or having to deal with constant unplugging. First Impressions: The hub looks sleek and feels solid right out of the box. It’s not too bulky, and the design is clean, so it fits nicely on my desk without being an eyesore. The fact that it’s powered was a big plus, especially since I connect a lot of high-power devices. The individual buttons are great to turn off a port without unplugging. Detailed Experience: I’ve been using this hub daily, and it’s been great for connecting my flight sim gear, like the joystick, throttle quadrant, and pedals. It handles all those peripherals with ease, no issues with lag or power. I’ve also got a few SSD drives plugged into it, and the data transfer speed is excellent—fast, reliable, and consistent. The 10 ports give me more than enough room to connect everything I need without running out of space. Soon I might need another! Key Features & Benefits: The powered aspect is crucial for me because I don’t have to worry about draining my laptop’s battery. Where do I start. The ports are loose so any bump and cause devices to disconnect. The lights are so dim and at an odd angle so it's almost impossible to see which ports are on unless your in the dark. And finally the 72W seems to be limited to 10W per port so you can't even fast charge anything.
