Was looking for a book on how to construct concrete HOUSES. This book has backyard projects of sidewalks, steps, and walls; it's fine but not exactly what I was looking for. I was also looking to find out about concrete recommended mixes. Doesn't have any. It only has brands for you to purchase and follow the instructions but no mixing ratios. You'll find more info googling up concrete mix than you will in this book on mixture ratios.

I've done a lot of home reno work myself, feeling comfortable in many areas (electrical, tiles, wallboard and so on) but completely out of knowledge and ability when it comes to concrete and masonry. This B&D book is one in a long series that I've bought over the years to help me learn, and this book is no difference. There's ideas about what you can do with concrete and masonry, but more important is the set of techniques the book provides. It's easy to read through, and has lots of illustrations to show how to tackle various tasks. Having said that, I think some things I will still leave to the pros, but for small tasks I have new confidence in my skills. Excellent book for the handyperson.

A book that helps any home builder to achieve is goal! Lots of pictures and details!
