Nice size rock
Nice selection of lava rock! I would buy it again. The color is nice and it heats well. We use it for our firepit.

Rocks that rock
Bought this for my fire pit and it's exactly what I wanted ... a rustic look rather than polished stones. I liked the warning about popping during first time use. We used it immediately with none of the popping, but happy to have been warned. There are all different sized stones, larger ones can be easily broken smaller. I had more than I needed for the pit so I used the leftover in the bottom of my planter for drainage.

Mostly a nice red
Some of these rocks are smaller than 1/2" however the color on them is a nice red mostly. A few of the rocks look like shale (solid) and not lava. Overall pleased with the item. Delivery was super fast.

Many uses in garden
I used these to fill bottom of large planters --lightweight to allow me to move pots, providing drainage, and reducing the amount of potting soil needed. Also would work in landscaping for drainage areas.

Does exactly as advertised
I still had the grate that came with our fire pit, so I played it safe and let the rocks heat up for an hour and do any exploding they were going to do, safely under the grate. I do not condone not using precaution when getting your rocks hot the first time. I was very pleased when there wasnโt a single snap, crackle or pop. Color has stayed fast after several hours of burn time now.

Exactly as expected
I bought this product to add to the lava rocks that came with my propane fire pit. The color was rich, perhaps because my old lava rocks are a little weathered. They looked good mixed with the lava rocks that came with my fire pit and I only used about 1/3 of the bag because this comes with a lot in my opinion. They are a good size. For the most part they were between 1-2 inches. A few were very large, 2-3 inches. Overall these can as expected and Iโm happy with them.

Okay but.....
The color of these rocks perfectly match the rocks already in my fire pit. The issue is most of them are crumbled, tiny pieces with very few larger sizes. Fortunately, we were only looking to fill in the rocks already in the pit so it's not a critical issue. I would have been greatly disapointed if we were the only rocks we were using. The would have barely covered the base of the pit area. If we decide to replace the current rocks at some point, I will got to a retail store to ensure I'm getting the size advertized.

I liked the reddish blend of stone
This product was great for indoor propane gas fireplace. I liked the different size stone. 1/2 inch to 2 inch mix . Average size fireplace and with one layer was enough. I also had some stone left over
